I'm not really interested in playing Rorschach tests. I was (foolishly) ever hopeful that perhaps you could have some brain cells left to acknowledge objective reality, but apparently that doesn't exist in the elephants' grazelands.

You think it's wonderful that an Islamic fundamentalist with an axe to grind is going to be in the US Congress. I also think it's wonderful. I fail to see what about this is not grounded in, as you say, objective reality.

If it helps balance out all the christian fundamentalists even one bit, I'm all for it. We should elect some more muslims. And some atheists. And maybe a member of the church of satan, just to really get all those christian panties in a twist.

Well, Zionist Christians sure aren't going to do anything about Israel selling military secrets to China, so Inshallah my Muslim brothers.

It's not so much that it's funny as much as it's a way for me to cope with how easily duped even otherwise intelligent people can be when you push the right buttons and move the right levers.

You think Donald Trump is that color naturally?

That he's like Thulsa Doom in Conan the Barbarian, the last member of a lost race of orange people from the tribe of Atlantis?

He can be a distant relative of Thanos for all I care. Actually, Obama always gave me an Ivan Ooze vibe, but that's beside the point.

All I'm saying is that it's patently ridiculous to give someone a free pass on something that flies directly in the face of your party platform just because they happen to be an Arab woman. Not only that, she isn't the only one.

And the press calls you crazy if you don't support murder, or even simply support doing slightly less of it...

Sanitation of violence is deeply rift in our media. Sad that Terminator and Robocop is vastly more moral with its depiction of violence than the massive amount of crap that cartoonifies murder that we show little kids.

Welp, I'm glad that myself and the other 2, 999, 999 illegals helped the democrats win the house. If not for the van they provided to get us to each one of them, I wouldn't have been able to vote in seven different districts. And the pizza they served us from Comet Ping Pong was delicious, too.

Some much-needed balance can now be possible.

Terrible poll options. Can't we use our imaginations a bit?
Bernie Sanders has done more to shift the Democratic party to the left than every protest vote wasted on every Green Party vanity candidate combined in the history of the United States.
They will just continue trying to redefine what "left" is, so that they can claim to be that while still being a thinly-veiled plutocrat party.

Dems whine an awful lot about the greens, if green voters supposedly have no influence on them.

There are only ten slots and these are the current front runners for the Democratic primary. Yes, our system is vastly worse than sortition.

If you go to really rural parts of Florida, racism is more noticeable. They won't admit they are racist to you, but like a lot of things in the south, people do it indirectly. Like back to the No 4 comments above, these comments were all said by middle class white Republican folks I know who lived in a really nice part of North Florida. They don't want this state to go Blue and they want to keep it that way. Voter suppression right there folks. This passed by plenty of Independents, Democrat, and various Republican support (Religious and Pro-Business with the Koch Brothers and ACLU support, I'm serious).
You say this like it's unique to Florida. This is sounds like a replica of the Texas I grew up in. Albeit that was 30 years ago, I highly doubt it has changed that much. At least in the suburbs.

Hilariously the Gillum race is still going on. Oh Florida. I'd be surprised if they didn't still have issues with dimpled chads.

Anyway, looks like we're on track to giving the republicans 9/9 Supreme Justices.

Yeah, confirmation bias makes people think their place is the racistest of them all. It's universal, and it was a little surreal and depressing reading a Chinese novel and suddenly seeing the same shit word for word we hear here all the time.

I'm sure Sarah Sanders will be ready with Photoshop!

Some food for thought:

Texas is now a purple state. Go Texas.
"By historical standards," this was a wave election.
The correct strategy, after all, seems to have been running a more liberal campaign.

Look at you and your newspeak. Orwell had no idea how wrong he was. We're not living 1984, but something much worse.

You're displaying in group preference right now. Am I not the "other" to the majority of the people posting in this thread?

He's not really wrong, people are hard wired to be tribal and it isn't just along race. You see how defensive nerds can get whenever someone criticizes their favorite thing or even merely suggests that it could be slightly different.

"Liberal" isn't the right word to use - there's very little lassie-faire involved with removing the means testing on Medicare and taking an axe to rent-seeking insurance vampires.

Judging from the current poll with a whopping 9 votes, we all hate one another.

Thank you. Though now I have to ask what it is that makes you or anyone else think that you can defy history and science on this matter.

Funny thing about diverse societies... they fail, almost always. The only successful one I see in the modern age is Singapore, but America isn't and never will be willing to do what it takes to achieve that level of relative harmony.

You of all people should know that the real conflict in war is not between militaries, but within them.
