Wow seriously though, that shit is super fucking rare. Especially complete.

I wonder if he knows what he's got. Judging by the €50 starting bid price I doubt it.

Has Hagane always been pretty rare? I got mine like 2 and half years ago for like 15 bucks, but it seemed like the going rate at the time was only 30, cart only...

yeah, hagane was a blockbuster exclusive and never really took off. theres the part thats hard to believe...I think Its a great game, how could it not have gained popularity?

I've always wanted a copy, but fuck that, $100?

you could always just buy the famicom cart for about half or less..

$100 is actually a pretty reasonable price.

The story of great games everywhere, haha.

It was also a fairly late release (1994), mainstream interest was already sliding towards gimmicky 3D by that point. It's a splendid ninja sidescroller, thankfully the SFC version isn't in the lunatic price range. You could get a mint Taroumaru (Saturn) for what that latest SNES Hagane went for.

For the $700 one a few pages back you could get NMint copies of Taroumaru, SFC Hagane, The Super Shinobi II and PCE Ninja Spirit and totally Ninja Sidescroller the fuck out.

Well, shit. Now I feel kinda privileged for getting it for that price. Such an odd game to be a blockbuster exclusive...

Think I'll play some Hagane tonight actually.

Man, now I'm regretting selling mine like a year ago for $100. How often is it that you can make an extra $200+ by sitting on a game for only a year longer :(

Man, holy shit! I seriously had no idea the game was that rare. I never realized that's my rarest game

Looking to get a Famicom AV and Disk System stuff, came across this gem:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEX-GENERATION- ... 5644004943

Hey, an overpriced crappy NES clone with a standalone disk system for only $400! What a bargain

I got a beautiful SFC Hagane some time ago, so no worries. There are a few (incidental) parts of the art that are visible only on the SNES art, but on the other hand most of the fun stuff has been cropped out (you get a rock on the left and some pine trees on the right, wow). It makes me wonder if there's not a SFC flyer or some other source with the full artwork, which would obviously be the best route. Buying the SNES game for art would be silly when the SFC version is so much nicer, IMO.

Considering the SFC version plays identically, has nicer packaging and can be gotten mint+complete for much less than some of the recent bare SNES carts, I'd guess buyers of the SNES version either want it specifically for the NA Blockbuster exclusivity, or aren't very import-minded to begin with and just want to do some nostalgic SNES gaming.

I wonder if there's an artbook of Keita Amemiya designs somewhere out there with Hagane artwork, if maybe not that specific image. I was glad to find some Assault Suits Valken pieces buried in the depths of a Satoshi Urushihara hentai spectacular. It's why I downloaded it! >_>

?!

Well...I guess I'll trust you on that one, is that some kind of yuri or straight manga?

You gotta source though? I wouldn't mind seeing this, ah, buried Valken piece no matter where it's buried.

Turns out they're on the web now - I had to search like a bastard before and ended up torrenting a whole set of Urushihara's artbooks (which also included some art from the Langrisser games - was neat to see the source of Ganelon's avatar, heh). The quality isn't quite as good but you can more than get the gist of them:

Characters lineup 01 Jake, Claire and Alef

Characters lineup 02 Johnston, Geltz and "Hey man nice shot!" Schermark

A splendid romance

A splendid bromance ;3

BAD END / YOU SUCK AT THIS GAME D:

GOOD END / YOU A REAL MECHA PILOT BRO :3

Can't recall which artbook it was exactly, will have to look it up later.

The Kizuna Encounter AES kit is up to 1100 euros with 4 days left.

Still nowhere near the $15-19k shown on neo-geo.com though. Too bad the "known copies" link there doesn't work. I'm fascinated by the fact that the game is so rare, that all existing carts have been accounted for, and I imagine it is known who owns them and where they are located.

Think how much more they could sell it for if they owned a shrink wrapping machine.

The seller does not provide any proof about the game is real or not.

And the description makes no sense :P

There's also a thread on ng.com with the consensus that it's fake. Apparently the auction got cancelled last time that cart was on eBay?

Maybe something amusing will occur, like it turning out to be real and people getting mad about missing the deal of the century (on PAL games that are identical to yet astronomically costlier than their JP counterparts).

So that thing turned out to be fake after all? I haven't followed this at all, and now there is way too much thread to read through. Can anyone give a concise summary?

The supposed Euro Kizuna? Still ongoing, four days left to bid on the best game ever!

Hopefully someone snipes with 25k and gets owned.

Ah, I kinda figured that was fake. I was talking about that Aero Fighters 3 AES that turned up awhile back.
