Nice to see Caladrius in there. No doubt one of my favourite games of 2013. Enjoy!

These are male .187" spade connectors, to mate up with the button connectors on my JAMMA harness. In theory, it will let me easily change the button mapping around if I need to, and possibly build a kick harness if I ever get a CPS2 again.

I needed more Asuka. This is part of E2046s 'ORI' range, ones they've designed themselves instead of just copying/pre-assembling. I think I might add a couple of glue dabs to the fittings on this one, it's certainly ignoring several laws of physics and quite prone to wobbling if the DVD shelf is touched. Amazing piece of work though, had to be assembled, 17 parts I think.

Whoa nice, I've actually thought about getting that figure (in kit form, would assemble/paint myself). Must... resist... temptation...

He's American. It's normal to have to have a concealed firearm on person when visiting the supermarket, just in-case some crazy with a concealed firearm starts shooting indiscriminately.

I have been wanting to play shmups with a proper arcade stick, especially with Seimitsu parts, so I decided to obtain a Mad Catz SE stick because of their relative ease and low cost regarding modifications. I got the SE stick through a trade and $80.00 worth of material to complete. Just received the arcade stick parts yesterday in the mail for completion and was happy with the conclusion.

Anyhow, a XBOX 360 Madcatz street fighter 20th anniversary fight stick SE modification, turning it into a Shmup stick. (Essentially the same as the Madcatz brawl stick in form)

Ingredients:

LS-32-01 Seimitsu joystick with Nippon black mesh balltop

PS-14-KN Seimitsu translucent buttons with focus attack silencers.

Arcade vinyl joystick overlay.

Standard brown plastic enamel spray paint. (First sanded down the case to allow the paint to take hold)

Aluminum 35mm case feet. (Set of 4)

Kinko's lamilabel for the decals. (cost 5$)

Took off the top control panel and only used 6 buttons to increase real estate. The control panel had the xbox home and turbo buttons. I rewired the select or "back" button on the rear of the SE case to be the xbox home button, sanding down and gluing on the xbox decal.

Used six buttons and covered up the control panel and button holes with overlay, reinforcing underneath the panel with cardboard and glue.

Designed the decals loosely based around Triangle Service's "shooting love".

Anyhow, here are the images starting with the original stick photo:

The Madcatz SE sticks seem to be a very good budget window for getting a proper stick for shoot em ups, especially considering the ease of swapping parts because of the disconnects.

Burnout 3: Takedown with your soundtrack of choice, OutRun 2 with Xbox-exclusive tracks, Crash 'N' Burn (2004). I'm not much of a fan, but Black surely was technically impressive. The original Crimson Sea (I guess).
I read tempting stuff about Crimson Skies, with just a small reservation ("not as good as the PC game"), but its netplay seemed to be that of a cult.

Jet Set Radio Future and Panzer Dragoon Orta are a must. I've heard good things about Gunvalkyrie, but I've never played it. Sega was really on their A-game with early Xbox releases though.

Also, IIRC multplatform games tended to be better looking on Xbox ever so slightly than PS2 or GC [so if you don't have it on another system already, Burnout 2 on Xbox would be a good idea ;3 ].

man, I kind of want to buy an original Xbox now, haha
I've only played the system while visiting my friends. :P
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Not that I've personally seen them in motion, but from what I gather Burnout 2 and Midnight Club II have Xbox-age real-time reflections (jumpy) instead of PS2's fluid fake reflections (think Gran Turismo 3/4 vs the original Forza Motorsport). Choose your poison I say, but in my book choppy reflections are the biggest graphical flaw of OutRun 2006 on PC. I also read once that Midnight Club II on Xbox underperforms in places, whereas on PS2, jaggy as it looks there, the game runs very consistently.
Last but not least, not multiplatform originally, but don't Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid 2 ports lack some effects on Xbox? Even if it's only about the rain in MGS2, some cool-looking rain that was.
Onimusha: Warlords port is enhanced, but you'd better be comfortable using the controller. It's a fighting game and frequent issening is essential.
Apparently PAL Xbox needs different software (settings) than default to make RGB colour look prettier (matters if you intend to use a CRT with SCART socket and RGB cable). Then with PAL games it would be reasonable to make sure whether they really output 60 Hz (some don't, regardless of your Xbox settings).
Oh yes, in Burnout 2 and 3 you press the trigger ("shoulder button") all the time, so whichever controller you prefer in that respect, it should be weighed up.
