I've been grinding for the 1CCs for the each route of Dariusburst AC for about a couple years now, and in last November I finished the GCL Route (the one with Great Thing) with Legend!

Now that I have finished all of the Original Mode, I am now working on the EX Mode as well... Wish me luck.

I just managed to 1cc Robo Aleste after more than 20 hours of combined grinding and runs. More than 2-3 hours of that went down the drain trying to figure out how to defeat stage 11's boss (Karyu), I could only kill him by using the yellow weapon, couldn't make any of the other weapons work...a true pain in the ass, you gotta get to that stage stocked up with lives otherwise it's totally hopeless. Blue weapon all powered up to level 3 is the way to go, at least for 95% of the game. Possible exceptions being the aforementioned stage 11's boss and certain parts in stages 7-8 with the blue missiles coming from above and below, where the yellow weapon again becomes the best choice.

This game is full of cheap deaths, specially with some bosses like those in stage 3 and 4, but overall I loved it. My favorite Aleste so far, this game is awesome.

Cleared Raiden Nova on Very Hard with the old Raiden.
Maxing out the ship's default configuration and picking the Bomb Register upgrade really help to survive.

Followed To Far Away Time’s advice and tried Sapphire. Got the 1CC tonight after probably 15-20 hours of work. Tbh it didn’t really click at first, but once I got the hang of the options and memorized the levels I really learned to love it.

Also, that makes me wonder... what was your first Cave clear? Open question! Mine was Dodonpachi, which is weird because my favorite is Espgaluda and that one is regarded as a somewhat easier game in their lineup, but I had a much harder time getting a 1CC in that one.

Cleared Hyper in Blue Revolver Double Action! For some reason I learned a Scoring route before a Survival clear route. Had to deprogram myself from scoring high to control the rank.

Personally I think dangun (even a pure survival clear) is quite a bit harder than ketsui 1all. You have a massive hitbox, super fast bullets, and only 1 extend.

Guess it depends on what other shmups you are familiar with but dangun is anything but subdued, it's quite the opposite actually.

Absolutely. I only meant that my run will be much less aggressive than yours, and the speed is something I still have trouble with (I used speed 3). I’m hoping to just kinda cheese through it but I know it’s still gonna be a grind

Dangun Feveron survival clear is definitely harder than Ketsui 1-ALL. When I've played both games in La Calice Cup I actually did Ketsui 1-ALL several times but didn't cleared Dangun Feveron at all. Scary game, needed five years before I decided to continue my grind and push myself more which was ended with this no miss clear (updated one, with 11 mil because 9.9 was not cool enough for me). And after doing that watching replay by PEG is fantastic experience when I was sure I know a lot of enemy waves here but I see much more in replay because of really impressive speedkills.

Recently did Devil Blade Reboot Inferno clear which scores enough to be top-10 score. There are huge flaws including whole two boss fights where I died. I enjoyed this game to a certain extent, music and visuals are super cool but it's getting really nervous when I do a lot of stage 1 resets and then good run happens and I still have to no miss a lot all with good scoring. Shmups in a nutshell.

26M in Devil Blade Reboot is possible for me but I decided to switch to Ketsui for a much longer grind.

The furthest I’ve gotten in Dangun previously was at a shmupsmeet (pre pandemic) on the pcb I brought and that was a stage 4 run that felt pretty unreal. For the most recent sessions stage 3 has been been pretty tough for me to get through tbh, and I basically just give up on scoring by that point

Been working on this for the past 8 or so months, I managed to get the 1-ALL after about two months, but the 2-ALL took me a lot longer.
It's kind of crazy just how much harder this was compared to the 1-ALL.
The mental game was probably the hardest part of it all for me, I'd end up in my own head way too often and end up making dumb mistakes in the second loop.
Luckily during this run, I was in a call with a few other players, so that distracted me from the run just enough to quell the nerves

When I first (tentatively) decided that I wanted to go for the 2-ALL, I set myself a score goal of 250M, but as I was improving at the game I ended up bumping it up to 300M, and yet here I somehow managed to destroy that, and got almost 320M!
Needless to say, I'm super happy with this run, and I'm so glad to finally have the 2-ALL.
The only problem now is that I don't really know what to do with myself an Ura 2-ALL still seems incredibly scary to me, so I think I'll either try and improve my Omote score, or maybe I'll try out some other games.

Okay so Novice mode in Saidaioujou wasn't as hard as I thought, I got a 1CC last night (Type A shot, lvl2 smaller hitbox, no Hibachi) without really trying (lost a few lives early on from not paying attention). I guess it's the hitbox that really does the difference, this was the first time I tried it with slightly smaller than regular and I immediately cleared it. I can't see myself clearing this game on Normal with regular hitbox though, at least not at this point in time. My heart lies elsewhere (I have this "what if I was able to clear DOJ" dream that distracts me from putting in effort in anything else).

Finally, after 75 hours, i 1CCed Tatsujin (Bitwave version).

I never met this game at the arcades, unlike most of Toaplan's stable. Had the Megadrive version but never did anything serious with it. So i wanted to make amends, give it a fair shake, and finish it if i could. Oh boy was i unaware of where i was getting into...this sucker is long, has a lot to memorize, and will kill you outright if you don't give it 100% attention. Problem is, depending on the shift i work on i'm fucking exhausted when i get to play it, and it murders me mercilessly because i forgot where i was, or got distracted. The last stage is a serious bitch, throwing showers of meteorites that ram you in the most cheap way if you dare miss a live there and start from a checkpoint with a peashooter. I finished learning some checkpoints, but with others it was a crapshoot, so i needed a no miss here. I had already choked twice at the last boss, losing lives left and right because of nerves. I was getting weary of finishing it ever, and this afternoon it happened.

No miss till the last boss...and then i start choking again. 3 lives lost in less than 30 seconds. I sense the panic creeping in, then i see the light: look up you asshole! I was looking at my ship and that messed with my mind. But gazing high and following the shots with the corner of the eye it was easy to avoid them. Killing the bastard has been the most liberating moment in a long time, ending this run at the boss would have been devastating for my morale.

Only thing missing is the moronic steam achievement that demands you to upgrade your weapon 1000 times, in a game where a run will net you 5 upgrades at most. But hey, playing it naturally i´m at 900 already (i have died that much) so i´m going to get it while i play fully relaxed, knowing that i have beaten it at last. The cigarrette after the sex.

Now I think about it, it's one of the few Time Attack STGs for arcade next to Macross 2. Great game! I only wish it awarded points for remaining lives. Even with deaths not mattering much, the WR-level play is blistering.

EDIT: Daww, G.M.C.えるす's score from GameST notes he had all five lives in stock If it's not a YGWesque Real Samsara Simulator where transitory death = ammunition, I like survival to count.
