Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
I found a Samsung Syncmaster 930MP at a local goodwill. It's a 4:3 19" LCD that takes SCART, component, svideo, composite, VGA, and DVI. Max res 720p, VGA goes a bit higher I think.
It's pretty odd to find a TV like this in the US that takes SCART natively, the other odd thing is that has a Euro RF input on it (maybe this is for an HD antenna?)

Here it is with MUSHA running on SCART RGB. The 240p support isn't the best, and has some image problems but the rest of the unit's functions seem to make up for that OK, especially considering it has a standard monitor mount to put on another stand for tate flipping.
Maybe the 240p support could be improved in the hidden system menu.
Here are some pictures of some of the inputs I stole from a PC site:

Seems very well maintained, the controller barely used. A fly in the ointment is, THPS2 not only doesn't output 60 Hz, but doesn't appear to run at any more than 25 fps. I read it can be forced into 60 Hz with Xploder, but then again - I can probably just burn NTSC bootable disc image onto a CD-R.

I had a Samsung just like that several years ago. I was super excited to run into a US TV with a SCART input. I don't know about you, but when I hooked up a SFC via SCART to it the picture quality was terrible. Looked like composite to me. Eventually gave it to the IT guy at work for free.

I doubt SCART will be of much use on LCD.
Regardless of the signal, don't expect any sub-native resolution to look good on it.
Did any SNES/Famicom output RGB without modding? Obviously, composite signal can be fed through SCART as well.

Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
Yeah as I said, the 240p support is a bit shoddy. But for a space saver, these are pretty handy and for $20 it was a fun thing to toy with. SCART RGB does work on it, but the TV's decoder or whatnot is designed for 480i and the result isnt as good as a CRT or scaler's output. This manifests itself with movement issues, if something is still it looks fine, but if it moves it looks not so hot.Stealthlurker wrote:I had a Samsung just like that several years ago. I got a wild hair up my ass and attached to it an old samsung stand I had around, now it can tate. Here is Guwange via VGA from my 360:

This monitor is going to go to a friend of mine with lots of consoles but space issues for monitors. Not an amazing solution, but I think it'll be pretty economical.

Oh I agree, for 20 bucks it's a fantastic pick up... especially for us folks here in the States. Unfortunately I forked out way more for it so my expectations were a little higher. Deep down I knew it wouldn't work any visual magic, but my curiosity about a TV with SCART in the States was a strong draw.

Just ordered a few games online, thus making my recent game purchases to be as follows:
360
Hitman blood money
La noir
Wii
Eledees
De blob 2
Another code r
Gunblade ny
Ds
Project rub
The rub rabbits
Cheap as chips all of these were. Reckon I spent less than £20 after trading in my Virtua Tennis 4 (Vita).

So I've just been to my local Cash Generators and picked up some PSP games for £10 total (incl case and manuals):
Ape Escape
Loco Roco
Gitaroo Man Lives
Gradius Collection
Space Invaders Extreme
Yeah... I know. I've spent too much money. And picked up too many games.

No more heavy books! All have been traded for a single Kindle! What folly! Burn them bridges!

I don't know man. I've had several e-readers over the years (I now own the most current Nook Glowlight e-ink edition).mosey wrote:No more heavy books! All have been traded for a single Kindle! What folly! Burn them bridges!
Yes, going digital saves space and offers convenience. But I just can't get into reading ebooks.
Give me a paper copy any day.

i was really looking forward to playing this, and this is what i got:
most 2d graphics just don't show up due to a really stupid console language setting incompatibility.

Make sure you play the Story Mode.

Not as good as my Philips, but not as burnt out either. Dirt-cheap, and the seller practically brought it on my doorstep at that. Alas, no 120 Hz in 640x480 anymore, but hey...

19'' too.

Been using my previous mouse for ten years, but finally the wheel stopped working, so it had to go.

That was my plan. Now I need to be patient until I get a US NTSC copy of the game...Obiwanshinobi wrote:Make sure you play the Story Mode.

First things first - I need an extension cord for this one's turned out to be short. Mouse for laptops, basically. The cord I found lying around is a tad too short for comfort. Very pleased with the mouse's other qualities. If it's at least half as durable as the old one (also A4Tech), I won't need another one for a while.
Glad to hear it. I'm fed up with brand loyallists who praise the game but refuse to learn how to play it.ryu wrote:That was my plan. Now I need to be patient until I get a US NTSC copy of the game...Obiwanshinobi wrote:Make sure you play the Story Mode.

I was lucky to find a copy of this game at con last year

The bomb-mission made me take a very, very long break. But after picking it up half a year later I beat it

Now I'm stuck on the mission after.....haha...

Hey, found a new place to save some money - no multivitamins for me (I haven't been using them anyway).
Other than that, picked up FFVII (finally) in its original packaging for $5, and Castlevania DS for $10 (why not?).
