I thought that Black Label was on all versions of EspII

Its definitely on my LE, and I remember it being on the non plat. SE that I used to have.

Black label is on all version of ESP II, that's why the game itself is called "Espgaluda II: Black label". The platinum is also region free.

Play-asia have just shipped DSIIX platinum as well.

I'm about to file the preorder for Under Defeat and I have some questions.

For those of you who bought from amiami....

1. How is their packaging? Do they have fancy, big logos with the company name? Do they carry that genuine look of merchandise/goods sent by a large retail seller?

2. Do they declare the whole value in the invoices and blah blah blah?

3. How often did you get the packages held in customs?

1) From what I recall, boxes from AmiAmi aren't prominently marked with their logo, but do tend to have "FRAGILE" printed all over the sides. Most of their business is in figures and other collectibles, so this makes sense. As a result, they're very good at packaging items in a way that protects them during transit.
2) Yep.
3) You'd have to ask someone in Brazil for an answer useful to you but I get a pretty decent volume of packages shipped to me (in the US) from Japan, with full value declared on everything. Haven't had a problem so far and I've been at this for over a decade.

Hopefully other places offer the LE for closer to $100.. I know NCSX is criminally expensive but that's a lot even for them.

I'd certainly begrudge having to settle for the SE and still end up paying $100 for it..

NCS does charge a little more than the other shops but generally still end up being the cheapest and fastest option for me, given the other shops ship internationally (and I never choose a shipping option that takes more than 3 days to arrive) and the UPS routes get anything shipped from NCS's warehouse to me the next day regardless of which shipping option is chosen. Their customer service is also nothing short of stellar, so even if they did work out significantly more expensive than the alternatives I'd have no problem paying extra for the superior customer service.

Also, a history of NCS's LE prices, according to my order history:

Mushihimesama Futari Ver 1.5 Limited Edition: $109.90
DoDonPachi Daifukkatsu v1.5 Limited Edition: $116.90
Muchi Muchi Pork! & Pink Sweets Limited Edition: $120.90
Akai Katana Shin Limited Edition: $116.90
(Apparently my Espgaluda II didn't ship from NCS.)

Given how volatile the USD has been against the yen, especially since all these releases came out, the price increase isn't exactly a surprise.

Retail in Japan on the LE is ~ $114USD and that's assuming a magically free currency conversion.

I've been ordering from AmiAmi lately. Last I checked this game was not up yet. But that is likely where I will order from.

The LE cover is great, but NCSX's asking price is insane! I'll wait for AmiAmi to put it up for pre-order. Will probably save $30.

Their price for The Last Story is also about $35 more than I paid...

Ah well, we're here to talk about Mushi HD so enough of that. Can't waiiiit!! :D

If you're in the US the only way you would save a significant amount of money going with AmiAmi instead is A) AmiAmi offers the game for significantly less than retail price, or B) you go with a dirt cheap shipping method, which could take forever to arrive. NCS's asking price is pretty much what you'd pay full retail plus reasonable international shipping - it only seems pricier because the USD has crashed hard since the last Cave release.

AmiAmi is typically about 13% off retail from what I have seen. That is what Under Defeat HD was as well. So knock off $15 from that $114 and add back $15 - 20 if you're getting EMS shipping for a LE game, which will be a little bulkier and heavier than a standard edition. They charged me $18 for EMS shipping on Gal*Gun limited edition, which is a little heavier than Mushi HD will likely be. No idea what their SAL rates are like because I never get SAL.

So at most I'm guessing around $120 from AmiAmi. Give or take $5 depending on discount rate and conversion from yen to USD at the time the game is available. With UPS ground shipping the LE is $139 from NCSX. $136 with USPS priority.

I would say saving about $15 - $20 is more than worth it by going with AmiAmi. Assuming my guess work is correct and the rates are on par with their usual discounts + shipping. But I also understand perfectly if people want to support NCSX because they trust them and want to support an American company.

I don't know if it's cheaper or not because I really don't examine it, but NCSX has shipped every package to me for a number of years via USPS Priority mail. That way I get Saturday delivery if the stars line up.

I missed the USPS option. Got it now. Would make my previous comments slightly less valid but still valid. Less than $3 cheaper with USPS priority. Getting closer anyway. Media mail would put it the closest, but that can take forever.

Ah, this sucks. I don't know if this is going to be a good port(the pics look off), but I have to pre-order to get the 1.5.

Damn, these JP games are getting ridiculous expensive. I don't know why the just don't make them all region free. I doubt most people are going to shell out 100 dollars for a game. Just us, that are cracked in the head. :P

Edit to point out I'm talking about Mushi.

Just fyi for anyone that ordered Under Defeat LE from Solaris Japan. I noticed that my poster wasn't included, so I sent them a message, and they responded saying that their posters wound up getting shipped separately, so they will be shipping them out at no additional cost as soon as they get them, and that I should be seeing it within the next couple weeks.

The US don't levy Import duty or tax on imports though....

To the poster above. Having ordered an LE from amiami, and seeing the size of the box they use I'd say it's very likely that you will be taxed when the package enters your country. The package is bigger than something that a normal postman would deliver in the UK, and so it would be delivered by a separate van. This means the package is more closely scrutinized going through customs.

Ordering from NCSX here, as usual. Might not the cheapest, but packages always arrived quickly and safe.

Well, I did it to test the waters...
As much as I like the service at NCSX - and they're awesome - the prices at Amiami were undeniably better.
Taxing here has more to do with brands on packages than their sizes (that's why Play-Asia is a no-no these days, I was taxed for a goddamn JP MS point card).
Hopefully Amiami is still unknown. :?

Just noticed NCS posted this on their update blog on Thursday:
NCS wrote:The first day of preorders for Mushihimesama HD have already surpassed the first day preorder numbers for Under Defeat, Mushihimesama Futari v1.5, and Espgaluda II Black Label. The limited edition of Mushihimesama HD is outselling the regular edition by a ratio of 3:1. Until we update otherwise on our shop description, all preorders will be for the first printing of the game which includes the bonus Mushihimesama Cave Matsuri Ver 1.5 DLC card. Similar to previous Cave releases, the second printing of the game won't include the bonus DLC.

Preorders for Mushi open at videogameimports.com.
Regular edition - £66.99, limited edition - £87.99. Pretty good service in the past, I've always got games within a day or two of release date.
