watch what you press after a score attack run, if it's a lower score than before press B on the second question i think. not 100% sure about that but it does look like i've just overwritten my black label maniac score with a lower one :(

I'm pretty sure if you try to upload a lower score it just tells you your score isn't high enough.

From my experience this is correct. It will tell you your current best and then show you what rank you'd be if you didn't have a score to submit prior. But, this could be possible as ive had games where it never took my score after beating my personal best.

It does let you upload a score that doesn't beat your best for a mode, but does beat your best for a character/weapon combination. The better score is just the only one that shows on the unfiltered lists.

Alright, my copy finally arrived yesterday after 2.5 weeks of waiting (no card, but was undamaged at least). Didn't get a chance to play it until today though. I'm liking it a lot so far. I've yet to encounter any glitches. I'll probably buy Black Label soon and see how it is after that.

I wish all the score uploading was automatic, like 99.9% of all other Xbox 360 games. Why wouldn't you want to upload a score when you were playing score attack? Or, they should have at least put an option in the options to make it automatic. Having to confirm it all reminds me of Nintendo's retarted implementation of leaderboards on the Wii.

Ugh... the damn lantern achievement has pretty much ruined the game for me... I'm not good enough to play for score -or- survival, so all that's left for me to do is the achievements, of which I find the lantern achievement damn near impossible. It's gotten to the point that I boot up the game on Novice Original just to try for the lanterns again, turn off the game the second I see a lantern scroll off the screen, and go do something else.

Is there any word on when the stutter will be patched for BL? I remember reading earlier in the thread Cave know about it and are apparently working on it, but was wondering if there was an ETA to go along with it. I want to grab the BL content but was thinking of waiting until the glitches were sussed out.

Given any patches have to be approved by Microsoft first, I wouldn't expect it for at least a month.

Use the map, don't be afraid to bomb just before every group of 2 or 4, seems to work better with Palm.

There's a map somewhere? Probably a really stupid question, but what are you referring to? Did someone take screen-shots of the map for stage 5 or something?

I'm very confused by that map.

ED: Kinda-sorta-not-really-related-question: Where does the 1-up pop out in level 5?

I finally made it to the 5th level in BL O and I died because I kept rushing to the top of the screen as soon as I killed anything big.

ED 2: Okay I just looked at that pic again and I'm retarded.

Thanks! If it was somewhere else in the topic, I'm sorry. I've been following it since the first page, but didn't really remember it :P

Well, I played me some Black Label God Mode. A LOT more manageable than Ultra Mode, but I'm clearly not skilled enough.

Weirdly, despite playing Abnormal Palm so much, I'm doing better with Normal Reco as of late. I'm not staring at her as much as I used to! I am actually anticipating where she is on the screen in relation to patterns! Woohoo, finally! And with that knowledge, I broke my Novice Original score. LOL

I'm working on smashing that tomorrow... With the goddamned lanterns. >:3 And maybe a no-miss clear, hopefully. With all these extends I am getting nowadays, I started missing that 1-Up in Stage 5.... weird.

EDIT: OH! MY GOD! GRAMMAR.

Black Label is a later arcade release that contains altered gameplay from the original. Certain patterns are changed and things like the colour palet on a few stages are changed. Also the scoring system is tweeked and Ultra mode is replaced with God mode, a whole new deal.

Sorry, I meant this is something listed on Xbox LIVE as downloadable content. Is it an add-on or is it a full game? It's from 1,200 points:
