The way I set mine up it was just under 600 shipped, if I hadn't already dumped so much of my life into this series over the past decade or so I would have had a hard time justifying it. The experience really can't be beat though. If you're willing to sacrifice 100% accurate turntable size you can get an FP7 or an FPS for significantly less and still enjoy nice keys and lights and all that. Amusingly enough, charts never appeared in the arcade versions except for one or two exceptions. It stands to reason that they were designed with the smaller turntable and tighter spacing in mind, many would argue that it's overall easier to play a lot of stuff on KOCs.
I find real keys make timing rolls and jackhammers a bit easier what with the springs and all, and at the end of the day it's just infinitely more satisfying to play on an all out ASC. The lights are pretty badass too.
