The Tetris game by Hudson should be on its way to me. I think the company had a good run on the Wii.

Thx, AntiFritz.

EDIT: The pic above prompted me to order Shooting Love at Play-Asia. I loved the original so it was overdue. I was (and still am) just a bit worried that it'll seem more like minigames than a shooter proper. But maybe that's a misplaced worry. I haven't read too much about the game, and maybe I got the wrong impression.

Hopefully my Wii playthings fever has waned. Luckily in the cold light of the day I don't recall ordering a thing I wouldn't buy whilst sober. Wii Speak made for the silliest temptation and I resisted.

Liked the thing's buttons. Any games of note for it? I'm generations upon generations behind the times.

Nephew wanted a 19" monitor, so I sold him mine and got an used 22" for $100. It's not the one of which I was dreaming, but it's quite the improvement: see the black area with the scribbled text? That is the old one's resolution.

Did the artist who painted those X68000 Akumajou Dracula illustrations designed the original Contra dudes? So erotic. That Contra poster doesn't do it for me, though. They look like some Contra cosplayers.

What the heck? PAL Wii Tetris Party Deluxe box doesn't say "Hudson" anywhere, only Nintendo and Tetris Online. Instead, the English Wikipedia article on Tetris Online, Inc. lists all three Tetris Party versions as games "developed and published" by Tetris Online, Inc.
I have yet to play the game, but if it doesn't mention Hudson anywhere, I'm gonna get wind of trademark harassment.

Couldn't really find fault with my two second-hand 'Cube controllers (other than primordial stuff, such as d-pad being what it is where it is and all that), but I felt Super Monkey Ball and F-Zero GX deserved a pristine one. Just so I can hope no Mario Party treatment was inflicted on it.

Finding a 'Cube controller in decent condition is a bit of a bitch [thank you Smash Bros and Mario Party]. But on the other hand, most after-market ones are completely terrible in every way.

My last one died to Smash Bros. I should probably pick a new one up at some point, blah. All I have right now is a PS2->GC converter.

Not entirely appropriate, since I didn't have to pay for it... but still awesome.

At work, we've been replacing a bunch of old, dead projectors in video conference rooms over the last couple weeks. We were sorting through the dead ones to dispose of them, and my boss said that if I could cobble together a working one, I was welcome to keep it for myself.

So I did.

It's pretty great. :3

I paid about $50 USD for a new sealed US Game Cube controller about a year ago. That seems to be the going rate on eBay. China clones can be had much cheaper, but I don't trust them.

I think it's a reprint from back when Konami reissued Z.O.E.2 as well. The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2 not included.
I only completed Sons of Liberty once on PC, then never felt I was really done with MGS2. Boy, did it made some internet people serious. Looking forward to the skateboarding missions!

Don't. The sticks will last about two months of heavy [non-spinning] usage before becoming super-loose. They will last a few weeks if you play anything that wants you to spin the sticks. A few of my friends bought some just because it's a vaguely better deal to get 2-4 of them off of DealExtreme instead of a single used official 'Cube controller that might be worn from over a decade of use, but I'd rather get a somewhat iffy official controller than a "nearly useless in months" aftermarket one.

Although I found a couple of cheap USB joypads useful, with 'Cube controllers, I believe it's easier to find a well maintained pre-owned one than third party one of decent build quality.

G-Con 2 to be owned soon. Only one (for the time being), but any 2 player gun gaming around here is more likely to happen on Wii anyway.

Image

This Iron Storm remake got back-ported to PC, but I purchased the PS2 version with split-screen multiplayer in mind. Also got 007: Agent Under Fire (PS2 PAL) as a freebie, but since it's just a disc I neither chose nor bought in a cardboard envelope, I think the post will do without the picture.

Ladies and gentlemen, THIS is possibly THE most worth owning GBA cart (or the least worth selling). I feared my fondest memories of Chef and Fire wouldn't endure such reality check, but now I know which cartridge will keep me company tomorrow.

I don't think so, but I'd rather sell real G&W units (If I had any) than this. Real things fetch handsome prices and there's nothing wrong with this collection.

One of only 200 made and only available to buy from the Ginza Tic-Tac store. I totally fluked out in getting one, a Seiko Guigiaro re-issue of an 80's original. Known as 'Bishop' as the red version was worn by Bishop in the film Aliens.

That's pretty sick, man! I've seen the originals (yucky colors!) on ebay, but never really understood why they were desirable outside of the asymmetry. I'm a huge Seiko nut, by the way :D

That's a slick old-school analog Seiko watch...reminds me of the cool high-tech LCD-based countdown wristwatch that was shown in the Blue Thunder film back in 1983. Never did find out what model & make it was though. I do recall seeing many of those LCD-type wristwatches from the likes of Timex, Armitron, Casio, Seiko, etc, back in the early '80s. Some of those watches used the old-school minature light bulbs to illuminate the LCD time keeping screen at dusk/night which was a battery killer/drainer quite easily if used too much -- definitely before the era of the electro-luminescent wristwatches with the Indiglo feature highly touted on the Timex watches and the like.

The Sony TV wristwatch was cool for it's time but albeit, mighty expensive to own back in the early '80s -- it was a minature black & white TV screen at best. A local jewelery store was giving one away as part of a prize drawing...entered it but didn't win it. Oh well. Upon seeing the TV reception of it in person on a demo model, it was an interesting engineering marvel to behold.

You and me both mate. I've got watches from under £100 up to crazy money but the Japanese Seikos always stand out as being original, innovative and amazing value. A few I've picked up over the last few years:
Tuna - best quartz diver for the money
Image
'Darth' Tuna - Bigger, badder, ceramic shrouded version
Image
White Dolphin - 300 piece Ltd edition of the above
Image
'Bullhead' 2012 re-issue
Image
Discus - simply one of the coolest designs you'll ever see IMO
Image
Guigiaro - as before but with added Space Invaders

I've always wanted one of those White Dolphins! :D

Here's one of my favourite watches in my collection - Cabane De Zucca Dashboard:

Image

Seiko sold movements to Cabane de Zucca (frenchly named JP Co. :D), who made some pretty wacky designs. Most of their packaging & inscriptions were reminiscent of toys or other non-watch products.

That Super CD-Rom2 title by the name of Neo Nectaris is ace...has two complete games on the disk itself. I'd play against the CPU and it's quite a formidable opponent indeed. Theron's Quest was released in the USA courtesy of TTI back in the day.
