Ok, so awhile ago virtual trading cards were introduced to steam: certain games have collections of trading cards associated with them, and about half of the card set will drop for you as you play the game (although you might get duplicate drops if you're unlucky). To get the rest you have to trade with other steam users or purchase them for a few cents off of the steam community market (you can also sell your own cards there); once you complete a set of cards you can destroy them to get a random profile background themed after the game, an emoticon to use on the forums or steam chat (also themed after the game), and usually a coupon for a random, unrelated game. Those two wallpapers are profile backgrounds you can randomly get as a prize drop for completing the crimzon clover card set, but Steam also allows anybody to just download the image files by finding the profile backgrounds on the community market or somebody's inventory.
