^^^Brings back memories of listening to old Tomita albums with my dad growing up. I will always have a soft spot for his version of Pachelbel's Canon. 84 is indeed a good run.

Yuuko Mizutani, Japanese voice actress who among many other things did the voices of Usagi's mom in Sailor Moon, Sora in Digimon and Pinoko in Black Jack, passed away three days ago from breast cancer at 51 years of age.
My 1CCs so I can find the list easier myself
<Despatche> you've been a thorn in the shmups community since the beginning, you're largely responsible for the horrible face of modern speedrunning

She was still actively voice acting in Chibi Maruko-chan. My kid watches these broadcast on the overpriced Japanese channel package.

Well guys, it seems Alan Young, the voice of "Uncle" Scrooge McDuck also passed at the age of 96. Ducktales won't be the same again. T^T

Another good one gone. Well, it's a good age. Back in 2013 when they made Ducktales Remastered, people were amazed he was still alive and capable of doing Scrooge again.

Yeah, I remember all of the "...wait, they got him, too?" when the game came out; it was nice that he got a chance to reprise the character, hopefully it made a nice memory for him.

Came just to pay my respects for The Greatest. The greatest boxer in the history of the sport, the greatest sports personalities of all time, and one of the greatest all-round atheletes.

I'll be watching some of your classic matches in honour Cassius Clay/Ali!

Magnum Photos posted a tribute, as he has been a subject of their photography many times over:

"Will they ever have another fighter who writes poems, predicts rounds, beats everybody, makes people laugh, makes people cry, and is as tall and extra pretty as me?"

Might as well start selling 'I survived 2016' t-shirts to celebrities. One hell of a culling this year.

Ali's been suffering Parkinson's all through my life. Back in 1984 he said that this life is just a preparation for the next, as shown in today's retrospective (Fox Sports, I think). He still didn't just wait to die. I hope some good documentaries or retrospectives come out soon, but I've wondered when he was going to go. What an example his words and battles were!

Interesting homework assignment: Figure out if the first episode of I Spy (starring two men who are dead - Robert Culp and Bill Cosby), "So Long, Patrick Henry," is anti-Ali or not. The intro has them watching over a film about a black American sports hero who has defected to China.

Also, RIP Prince, Victoria Wood and everyone else who's passed recently. 2016 is shaping up to be a really bad year, it seems.
Not just George R.R. Martin, but also Yoshiyuki Tomino (a.k.a. Kill 'Em All) or worse, Gen Urobuchi (a.k.a. The Urobutcher).

Not the biggest fan of the reboot trek movies, but him and Urban really played their parts just as well as the original actors did.

He was in Hutch which I think was probably the most underrated series of the 00's. He wasn't amazingly mind blowing (he played the son) but the cast worked well together. Dark and funny.

Reports are that he put his jeep in neutral on an incline, got out, and was crushed when it rolled on him. Damn.
