I JUST 1CC'ED KETSUI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes! Finally! God I love this game! Score was actually low for me (88 million), but I finally cleared it.

I am DEFINITELY coming back to this game in the future; so, so satisfying.

Now, time for DFK BL!

Congrats! Your score is still better than my one and only 1CC. Mine is only at 85m. Ketsui never agrees with me.

Thanks. The only reason I'm annoyed is that I've had runs as high as 97, and it would've been nice to come closer to that on the clear.

It doesn't always agree with me either. Last night I couldn't get past stage one without a miss, lol.

It's a common occurrence. The times I've cleared DOJ BL and Progear are all lower than my high scores for the same games.

I FINALLY managed to get a 1cc in Ketsui. It feels like it's taken me forever to get it... I had a really crap run overall (I got a pretty lame score of 82 mill (my highest score so far is 92 mill) and I made a couple of soul crushingly bad mistakes) but yeah, I managed to get a 1cc nevertheless so I'm pretty happy about that. I'm currently uploading my replay to youtube in case anyone is interested (I guess not since there's better runs out there but whatever

Okay a 1CC on Akai Katana Shin mode using Type I and my own devised routes with a final score of 422,322,248. God I love the soundtrack for this game. Time to look up some replays and see how the pros do the scoring.

edit: Jesus I can't even tell what they're doing in these replays that's producing them so much score.

Throwing katanas at enemies while they're invulnerable and just getting as many direct hits as possible accounts for a big part of it afaik. I should get back to playing shin, I enjoyed it but switched to trying to 1cc other modes after I got the 1cc for it even though I like the scoring system.

Yeah I copied the replay and followed through with the katanas when they were fired out and ended up accidentally getting 25m just from doing that.

Wow, now that I know this I can see plenty of opportunities to take advantage of this exploit.

Congrats man, I know exactly how you feel. My clear run has two insanely stupid deaths in stage 4, but I beat it-- for now that's more than enough.

I 1CC'd Darius Burst: Another Chronicle on the easiest path today.

Yeah, not the hardest game, I know.

But I did this in an actual arcade, which was a first for me. Makes it slightly better.

Yeah, I couldn't get the laser to lock on to the last of the enemies that appear on the top right of the screen at around 11:25 and that's why that part got a bit crazy, haha. Thankfully I had already practiced the "best" and "worst" case scenarios of that section

You start off with 3 lives in Ketsui and there's 2 extends that you get from score (one at 20 mill and one at 45 mill) and 2 1-ups that you can collect (one on stage 3 and one on stage 5). So you can get a maximum of 7 lives on the first loop.

Ohh I share that pain. I was unlucky to have my run end just as I was about to defeat the boss and it can really be discouraging if you let it get to you. Glad you finally got the clear though. These last couple of Ketsui 1-ALLs make me feel like giving the game another spin sometime soon.

Getting better at DOJ... I'm getting pretty consistent at the first three stages, have figured out how to full chain the first two (although I'm not very consistent at chaining, but meh,) and have made it as far as the middle of stage 5 without continuing. I can almost taste the 1cc, yet I know it'll still be a long ways off! Stage 5 is a beast, and there are still bits of stage 4 that give me grief.

Jokes aside, congratulations. That's an awesome accomplishment. Omote or Ura?

I hope to be able to loop it someday. Along with Dai Ou Jou it shares the title of my favorite CAVE title; I'd love to get to that level of play with both eventually. I played another run of Ketsui yesterday and made it to stage five easily, but I lose any semblance of scoring technique once I hit stage four. To be totally honest I still find it hard to believe that I've cleared it at all. I can't imagine how it must feel to 2-ALL a game like this.
