Well, since I'm going through multiple sites just checking if ANYONE has it, but no, reading off Gabrius's post from G-Faqs said that it'll come tommorow for those that pre-ordered and on the 8th for those that didn't.

My local Gamestop mavens say they finally got "official" word on the game, and the dates they gave me match what's quoted here, so hopefully I'll finally bring my year-and-a-half-long preorder to a close tomorrow.NeoStrayCat wrote:reading off Gabrius's post from G-Faqs said that it'll come tommorow for those that pre-ordered and on the 8th for those that didn't.

Because it really wasn't that bad. I mean, it's not an apocalyptically awful game. The latest balance patch made it a significant amount harder by restoring the hit boxes to something more Gradius like. I mean, seriously, it could be a whole lot worse.DragonInstall wrote:Not trying to start anything, but wasn't this game shit? All the hate deterred me from even getting it... so why are people getting this again?

I just got a text message from Gamestop as I opened this thread and they claim they will have it tomorrow. So here's to hoping a crappy Gradius is still a fun game.
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.

Re: Konami brings Otomedius Excellent (Xbox 360) to U.S.
in the four minutes it takes to drive from my job to my house, I received two pieces of information from two different corporations about this product.
5:18 (Gamestop, Via text Message): Your order of OTOMEDIUS EXCELLENT COLLECTORS EDITION available FRIDAY PM
So OK Yay there.
5:19 (Amazon.com, via Email): Your order of "Otomedius Excellent Collec..." has shipped!
That seems pretty straightforward.
I'm getting two. One is for a friend.

I got the same impression, but I guess people are excited now because a shoot-em-up is getting a disc release in the US. I'll pick this up eventually, but all the bad talk from before prevents it from being a day one purchase. Getting DDP:R this week, and I'll have to decide between Otomedius and Bullet Soul for my next STG.

So the leaderboards are separate from the Japanese version's? I wonder if the multiplayer is as well.Korszca wrote:Someone please play this. I am literally the only person on every leaderboard right now :/

I would love to answer your question about multiplayer, but I'm still apparently the only person in the world with a NA copy of this game.
(PS - no, tell me no sessions found)

Bad sign for people who want to play between regions.

I guess this means that the DLC components might also be 'region encoded', so to speak? I'm still wondering if I can download the stuff from my US account and have it work on the Japanese version (would save me shilling out a load more cash for some JP points). As soon as either DLC character goes up on the US market place, I'll download one of them and try it out with my JP copy of the game.

I'll be able to test this. I own all the Japanese DLC, if what you want is true, the opposite must be true. But judging by what I see here, I wouldn't hold your breath.Kiken wrote:I guess this means that the DLC components might also be 'region encoded', so to speak? So the online multiplayer is like Deathsmiles in 3 reigons and not cross compatable, smooth move again...We'll, tell us about the DLC, its it cross compatable, or region coded, if anything, but possibly not.
Also, how big is the install/file size?

With all the DLC on the marketplace right now, 5.8gbyte. My 360 isn't on right now so I can't tell you how big the game is, but it's dwarfed by Otomedius G (because Otomedius G had morbidly obese video files on disc.)NeoStrayCat wrote:So the online multiplayer is like Deathsmiles in 3 reigons and not cross compatable, smooth move again...We'll, tell us about the DLC, its it cross compatable, or region coded, if anything, but possibly not.

That said, if you have flash storage DON'T install it, it's slower to load that way. If You have a hard disk DO install it, it's much faster. Or at least that's the experience I had with Otomedius X JP.

No, I'm not holding my breath. However, assuming that the point values are identical for the US DLC, I don't mind dropping 400 MSP as an experiment. I'll be sure to post here with my findings.dieKatze88 wrote:I'll be able to test this. I own all the Japanese DLC, if what you want is true, the opposite must be true. It's 2.3 GB, plus 41 MB for the free "you didn't preorder this at gamestop but if you don't download this you can't play with those that did" DLC.

Even though the DLC Chars are 400MSP each, and the 10 BGM's are 440MSP (Add all BGM prices altogether = 4400MSP), and a Gamer Pic set for 80MSP.Kiken wrote:No, I'm not holding my breath. Thanks, not that big of a game though, maybe, but add the DLC and its more than that.Korszca wrote:It's 2.3 GB, plus 41 MB for the free "you didn't preorder this at gamestop but if you don't download this you can't play with those that did" DLC.

I've heard that a few Gamestops are already selling this, but the vast majority of stores will be getting it tomorrow.
Non-preorders will have to wait till the 8th. Doesn't apply to me, but was the special edition supposed to be preorder-only?

I don't think so, I think that was only the Anoa skin, but I could be wrong.Estebang wrote:Doesn't apply to me, but was the special edition supposed to be preorder-only?

They've said that the Gamestop-exclusive DLC code will be on the receipt, I hope they don't drop the ball on that.

Well, I guess I also have the dubious honor of being the first person to loop score attack mode on the NA version.
Question, how many loops does the game have? There's an achievement of 10mil, but at the rate I'm going at, I'd need to beat the game about 3 times. Is that right?
Or am I playing just totally wrong?

With Konami it's usually infinite (although I guess they might limit it to 256).Korszca wrote:Well, I guess I also have the dubious honor of being the first person to loop score attack mode on the NA version.

And yes, an average loop score is around 3.5 million, so roughly 3 loops (give or take) to hit 10 million. The achievement won't pop until after you finish your credit (it'll unlock when you view the experience tabulation screen).
