I'll have a picture for this thread tomorrow, as my first cab gets here. But for now I have a question. It's an Astro City, and the control panel has the two different button layouts. IIRC, it's P1 - astro, p2 - vewlix like this http://www.akihabarashop.jp/images/Astr ... l(Big).jpg.

I want something that's the same on both. I'm pretty indifferent about which layout it is, something like this would be fine: http://www.gremlinsolutions.co.uk/produ ... Hempty.htm.

Is there anywhere in the US I could order this from? Don't really want to deal with extra shipping etc if I don't have to. Thanks!

Nice man! that neo geo group buy went off without a hitch. I'm almost done getting mine all cleaned up and situated in the game room.

Do you have any access to a large scanner? my cab didn't come with the blue marquee. I haven't been able to find a replacement.

The blue marquee is actually attached to the lower marquee. Mine is pretty roughed up but you can't really tell when it's under the plexi. I suggest contacting Spectre over at Arcade otaku for repros and custom ones. Does yours have the lower "blast city" marquee?

Running Shmupmame 3.0b on a docked T60 with the help of an I-pac2, UVC, jamma interface, and funny chinese car amp.
Just need to figure out how to properly mount the docking station to the board. Might have to retire the laptop and use a regular open mounted pc.

So this is my fairly new blast city after about 10+ hours of cleaning + refinishing. Dont even get me started on how this thing looked when I got it.
big thanks goes to rezwalker for not actually selling me the cab he sent me pictures of.




what was originally posted as "no burn" was later changed to "little burn, not even noticeable" turned out to be heavy burn, noticeable on 70% of gameplay.

my monitor is actually incapable of displaying a white image, its just a grey/red smear. (grey shadows from the screen burn, and red discolouration from convergence issues)

Damn Moh, I'm sorry to hear about that. The one Cab I have purchased has pretty nasty burn in too. There are some games, like Sky Shark, that just look nasty, but games with less solid color screens and more of a dark setting, like Omega Fighter, still look pretty sharp.

Yeah, I'm very sorry to hear that too. Fellow shmuppers (and candy cab enthusiasts) shouldn't do that to each other. Hope it was just a big mistake which will be corrected.

it definitely wasn't a mistake, he let me test it with mars matrix which was way too dark to notice anything wrong with the monitor.

well its strangely comforting to know im not the only one suffering with a shitty monitor, but I doubt you had to pay $1000 for your cab.


if there's one thing I can't stand, it's dishonest people. this is the first time I've had someone blatantly lie to my face when buying something, and to be honest, its really discouraged me as an arcade game collector/enthusiast
