I was battling with the first boss and I got that glitch where it says you've got more chips than you should, only it actually gave me all those chips. Not only that, but the counter stopped decreasing during the battle as well. I beat stage one with a multiplier of 3050.
It didn't stop there either. The multiplier didn't drop during the 2nd, 3rd and 4th boss fights as well, but when I reached the 5th boss it started going again. The loop was normal as well.

Interesting, was this on the old or new revision ?
had a glitch the other day i've never seen before. immediately after entering "AAA" quickly to get the "CAV" because of a terrbible run on the first level, i got an error display that looked very similar to the demo crash, and the game froze. i tried replicating the error several times to no success. i have the old EPROM version.

Hello & forgive the revival of this....
My question is what's the difference between a 'made in taiwan' pcb & 'made in japan pcb'??..any value or in-game differences...thankyou.
remedy: Try not to press buttons between st4 and 5 intermission. It won't happen everytime if you do (very rarely actually), but that is what triggers the bug.
yosai wrote:First time it's happened. The EPROM is a replacement with 'revised' written on it and its never suffered from the freeplay bug.
Interesting does your version string have an extra period at the end like this ?
"2003/01/01 MASTER VER."
The period is present, exactly as above.

Hi folks,
I was about to buy me a ketsui this week end, but just saw this problem exactly, no one knows what is exactly that glitch ?
The game has the old rev too.
It scared me and i wanted to find what it is before spending my money, didn't know there were so much glitches with this game...
edit: sorry fort the first post, i'm used to this board but never post, if i have to present myself let me know.

I mean it can't possibly means that the board is starting to die ?
Sorry if that sounds rubbish but i don't want to spend all that money in a
dying pcb.
No. These glitches are programming errors, and many are fixed by replacing a ROM on the board (it's possible to burn your own ROM, as the image is floating around the web somewhere). It's a shame that Cave never bothered to fix them all, though.
As is the case with Cave's SH3 hardware, PGM hardware Cave games are pretty robust (with the exception of DOJ Black Label's suicide battery) - I've never had one die on me.

youre blowing the glitches out of proportion, i played thousands of credits without the fixed ROM and only triggered the glitches a handful of times, mainly the "free play" bug, and now that i have a fixed ROM i havent had the board glitch more than once or twice.. again out of thousands of credits..
the destruction of everything, is the beginning of something new. your whole world is on fire, and soon, you'll be too..
Sorry for the thread necromancy; does anyone lose sound when the demonstration glitch occurs? I'm wondering if this is part of that glitch, or an unrelated issue that I'm having.
Sorry, I should've clarified; I'm speaking about the glitch where while trying to press start in demonstration mode, the game auto-selects a ship and basically starts running another demo. When this happens I lose sound as well. I believe this glitch is described in section 3 of the original post.
