...or they can just spend 2 minutes opening the whatsnew.txt file, CTRL+F (or CMD+F for Macs), search for the games you usually play and see if something changed (or their drivers).

If they didn't change, just carry on.

Or, at least, that's what I usually do. I used to play 30-40 games on MAME, since then I've slowly acquired the PCBs and now I just use MAME for vertical games because I'm not strong enough to rotate the monitor in my Astro City cab and that's 5-6 games total (I have the CAVE games on the X360).
