Pretty sure this happens on the stage 2 boss as well. It's hard to tell what is safe to touch sometimes.
Yeah agreed I think i lost a good 4 runs to not knowing and getting killed. Just got the 1cc though so i'm satisfied for now, crap last stage though lost a good 500k+ through nervous poor play. Roll on Deltazeal.

The game includes just XII Zeal, there aren't any hidden additional games or anything crazy like that ^_^;. There is a very good chance that we'll release other Triangle Service games though (most likely Delta Zeal) if XII Zeal does well.

Same here and tbh as much as i love both games i can't help thinking deltazeal with its more straight forward play style may of been a better option for the first steam release in regards to attracting people.

In this context the "straight forward play" probably put it in the backseat, as XIIZEAL has the "scoring with the side shot" gimmick which makes it stand out from other STGs.

Also ΔZEAL / TRIZEAL / EXZEAL kind of represents a progression of variations on a theme. Mind you ΔZEAL / XIIZEAL/ TRIZEAL would make a nice "PC Shooting Love Trilogy". Though some people seem to expect [TRIZEAL:EXZEAL] / [XIIZEAL:ΔZEAL] / [COMBΔTZEΔL:Shmups skill test] as the "Shootiing love Trilogy" on Xbox One.

I have it for 360 but I'd love to play it on steam too.

That's a good idea, Enemy. I'll include scanlines as a suggested feature from our launch feedback.

Any chance that Crimzon Clover would get scanlines as well?

The game doesn't seem to break a new record in terms of shmup sales on steam http://steamspy.com/app/364250 :)

It's probably already profitable, considering that it is a port.

Not buying until you release both.

Not because of stinginess, but since it won't be a replacement for my 10th Anniversary disc otherwise.

Why?

It was not designed for CRTs. It was not designed for scanlines. What do you want scanlines for? Gotta get dat retro hipster feels?

CCs graphics need some anti aliasing. The visual design is great but it looks a bit pixelated here and there even on the HD version.

If wanting unnecessary scanlines makes me a hipster, I'm completely fine with that.

You can always try using SweetFX/Reshade to add scanlines to arbitrary PC games. Their CRT filters are very customizable as well, so you wouldn't be at the mercy of the developer's particular implementation. I haven't actually tried that with CC or XIIZEAL, but it should work as long as the games use at least DX9.

It's currently -40%, though i suspect it's just a mistake, like 20+20 (launch discount + summer sale discount).

Well shoot >_<. Investigated the price problem, and here's what happened: The launch discount is still running for the first week after launch, til the 12th. At the same time, the Steam summer sale discount launched (at the same discount %) today. What this caused was a couple days where the discounts were overlapping. I didn't think the discounts would stack (it's an unusual situation to have more than one discount going at once), so I didn't make a note of it when I was checking the price earlier.

Unfortunately, I can't cancel the discounts now - they're locked in for the summer sale. The launch discount will expire tomorrow and the price should return to the intended 20% off.

So that's my bad guys - derp moment there. If you're pissed about it, pm me and we can make adjustments.

I find it odd that Steam sales work like that; I figured that you'd be able to correct mistakes if the sale price is off (like the games that get over 100% off).

Either way I guess I'll just wait a couple of days for it to return to the proper price.

Well I just bought the steam port.

You guys removed the mangled robot voice that says "new record!" This is an outrage and simply will not stand.

Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure that speech (more like "Wow Wuzza") was removed as part of the aesthetic changes from XII Stag to XIIZEAL and is the same on the 360 port.

Dat those steam prises. Like -107% discounts :P

Well, i don't mind.

Btw, how long it takes to port game like this? Was it a port using xiistag limited engine or port from x360?
I know nothing about porting games, so maybe my questions are itself wrong D;

I'm no Fujino-san, but considering the design of the menus, the videos he's uploaded of both game's development environments and the fact that development environments for Hyperstone CPUs and G-NET hardware are Windows PC software suggests what we're seeing is much more evolved than the proof-of-concept engine base that was XII Stag Limited - a cross-platform backend compiled for PC with a graphics front-end whose design is being shared with his 360 ports.
