It takes time for people to appreciate the developing mastery exhibited by titles such as Medal of Honor XXIV: The Antarctic Campaign.

haha I was just being facetious, there's lots of good 3D stuff out there. Like GunValkyrie, and Devil May Cry! And for every MoH and GTA there's at least two Dangerous Seeds.Valgar wrote:And you just proved my point.bluberry wrote:It takes time for people to appreciate the developing mastery exhibited by titles such as Medal of Honor XXIV: The Antarctic Campaign.

No dammit, gaming used to be a land of magic and pixie dust and no bad games were ever made and nothing was ever licensed unless it ruled and any memories of bad games you might have are just a hallucination.bluberry wrote:for every MoH and GTA there's at least two Dangerous Seeds.

Though I'm not sure I'd stick GTA in with Dangerous Seed. GTA at least tries to be good and have a unique identity.

Whoa buddy I would care about your problem but to quote a shmup poster "I play games not systems." Just buy an xbox360 if it bothers you so much. It's not like we actually know anything about the PS3 lineup and good luck playing a shmup on the revolution.jp wrote:Xbox 360.

Well, for one thing, history has shown, that they tend to stick to one console at a time... Up to the release of PS-2, GC & X-Box.
They did develop Silpheed 2 for the PS-2 & Ikaruga for the Cube... But, Did they make any other games for the X-Box for that matter?

Well this gen they stuck to three consoles if you count the GC Ikaruga port, PS2 Gradius V, and various GBA games.ST Dragon wrote:Well, for one thing, history has shown, that they tend to stick to one console at a time... Up to the release of PS-2, GC & X-Box.

Anyways, I don't see why this is news for IGN, wasn't this stated by them a week ago at TGS? And I don't care what console Treasure is on, I will get it. I just want Orta backward compatibile on the system, a good Halo sequel and I will be happy.

No kidding. It's like people are reading the oldest possible info on the controller that they can find.sethsez wrote:I think every article on the Revolution controller needs to have the following:ST Dragon wrote:But, after having a closer look of the Revolution Joypad pics, I can't seem to spot the "Y" & "X" buttons for the SNES?
How are you supposed to play Super Mario World or Axelay without those 2 buttons?
THE REVOLUTION CONTROLLER CAN PLUG INTO OTHER SHELLS TO ADD BUTTONS OR FEATURES, AND THE SYSTEM ITSELF ALSO SUPPORTS GAMECUBE CONTROLLERS

In 10 years we won't even have consoles in the traditional sense; it'll all be simulated movements in virtual environments.Valgar wrote:A lot of retro lovers just suck at finding new good games. And as far as this "I play games not systems" nonsense goes, well then, I guess since I need a set of wheels I can just drive a car and not make payments on it, live in a house and do the same, and refuse to pay taxes while demanding government services. It's the exact same argument.

It's called discussing. If you all can tell me that you have the right to pre-judge a game before it even comes out, or nitpick the hell out of every shmup collection that comes out, then I can darn well pre-judge a console, or at the very least it's design, thank you very much.sethsez wrote:I haven't seen this much pure, undiluted cynicism since the last time I stepped into an 8th grade classroom.

Why do you all find this so hard to believe when there's already a patent out on a movement simulation device??The n00b wrote:puff puff give, Dave. Imagine how totally rocking a VR Chaos Legion would be! I'd pre-order seventeen copies this instant.

Just like we'd all have video phones by now? Of course, then we found out that people don't want to look at each other while they're talking on the phone, so even though they're possible nobody wants them anyway.dave4shmups wrote:In 10 years we won't even have consoles in the traditional sense; it'll all be simulated movements in virtual environments.
Simulated movement isn't nearly as convenient as a hand-held controller, so no, we're not going to have a holodeck for gaming even if we get the technology. Joe Fatass isn't going to buy Madden if he has to exert a lot of energy to play it.
Where did I say that was any more justified than this? Don't put words in my mouth, since I never said I "have the right to pre-judge a game before it even comes out" or implied it.dave4shmups wrote:It's called discussing. And if someone says "thing A is stupid" then I have the right to say "judging thing A with no information whatever is stupid" thank you very much.
...what?dave4shmups wrote:And as far as this "I play games not systems" nonsense goes, well then, I guess since I need a set of wheels I can just drive a car and not make payments on it, live in a house and do the same, and refuse to pay taxes while demanding government services. Um... here's a shot in the dark. You think "I play games, not systems" has something to do with piracy, right? That's about all I can get from this comment.
Shit gets patented all the time. If everything that got patented wound up being THE FUTURE OF VIDEOGAMES then we'd have one fucked-up hobby.dave4shmups wrote:Why do you all find this so hard to believe when there's already a patent out on a movement simulation device??
