I'm a little confused at some of the things you're stating with such authority replayme. Women are largely incapable of love? Love (for women) is not unconditional? Is that your first hand experience from being a women (which would still only give you an extremely granular view). I'd assumed from your posting in this thread you were male.

Put another way, how do you know these things with such confidence? How can they be so absolute? Perhaps you have a superhuman basis of experience?

I'm a romantic type, but even I can feel cynical about love ('is it just biologically induced illusion to further humanity's standing on earth?' etc.). Questioning love, it's purpose and our perception of it is and interesting and worthy pursuit.

But broad generalisations about just over half the population? Is it not possible that across numerous cultures, countries, religions and billions of individuals there is too much variety and difference to make such sweeping comments?

And some of the comments come across as degrading and unpleasant. While other people are using language like 'variation' and 'certain women', your most striking language is 'bitchez', 'sluts' and 'whores'. Would you say you dislike women and see them as lesser than men? I'd be delighted to be wrong, but it's coming across that way in some of your writing (of course, perhaps you see men as even lesser beings).

Generalising by gender is the same as generalising by race and sexuality, and it's seriously not cool.

And, again, please consider follow forum members. I may be wrong, but I believe your conversing with at least one female in this thread.

Loads of PCBs and cardboard?

EDIT: To be serious, yes. I believe you're right. The 'men only want one thing' argument is equally ridiculous.

How do I always miss these threads!?

I don't look at the forum for 2 days and this all happens.

Righto, to business.

Replayme. You are wrong. I say this as someone who until about 2 years ago might have even been stupid enough to half agree with you. The reason why was because I hadn't had a proper relationship for years and that just makes someone angry and bitter. It really just does. Trust me.

Most women actually wouldn't just go wandering off if a better offer came along. Some would, but not many. I'm basically fuck ugly, and have an annoying girly laugh, not to mention lacking all the muscles/tan w/e else apparently makes someone physically attractive. I just came out of a 1 year relationship I chose to end myself due to distance and other circumstances with a woman who fulfilled none of the criteria you just mentioned. In fact, none of her friends did either. Or any of their friends. Or any of the women at my place of work that I know, or their friends, or the women in my family...or actually any of the women I've met in the last few years since I bothered to stop being a cynical grumpy angry plonker.

Take off the tinfoil hat, hit the showers and get outside and meet people. Or tentatively start with internet dating. Either way it takes one angry cynical nerd to know another and I used to be one of those, and you're one too now.

I don't know... I don't see women as being lesser then men. I just find that feminism (in large) has absolved women of taking any responsibility for their actions. Sorry if my argument came across as generalist.

Anyway, regarding as to whether women can love in the same way as men (and to the same extent), why don't you read up on Briffault's Law?

Women are not capable of unconditional love. And I'm sorry if that truth bomb is going to ruffle a few feathers.

*Disclaimer: not all women are the same. So I'm not referring to all women. After all, not every woman can be like Mother Theresa.

OK. I will.

Fur, in my case. And I still sense that's an academic opinion, as apposed to a quantifiable fact.

What about love for their children?

I do see that 'unconditional love' could be seen much like altruism. It's hard to ultimately quantify that anything is truly altruistic, or not (regardless of gender).

Replayme... just an aside, considering your criticism of reading up on feminism in this thread (as it is 'brainwashing') there's a little irony to these links to gender-theory!

I'm going to give reading up on both sides a go, and will read the linked articles.

EDIT: Removal of 'playful', as I realise I was being serious.

I had to do some research for this, in that I didn't want to "condemn" ALL women - as not all women are the same. So I'm surprised that the following came up as the first thing on my Google search:

Dude... I did read your post. And I don't agree with online dating. Namely for the specific reason that it gives women all the power.

I ask that you take a moment and watch this <2 minute video before reading the rest of my post

http://youtu.be/-VWS3n6i3KA

My preceding post was intentionally shocking. Women have learned in bits and pieces over the course of their lives that this is the score, but they almost never hear the entire thing in such stark detail in one piece. If they did, most never would have agreed to take part. But in a slow dribble over the course of their lives they incorporate these little bits of advice, even false advice like "Men don't like a girl who's too easy!" and don't realize the ugly conclusion it's all adding up to. Like the frog in boiling water analogy. Women can and should want better, and feminism has given them the economic flexibility to do so, but like I said we're a society in transition and there's still a lot of detritus from the bronze age our culture has yet to clear away. Try showing my post to a woman you know, wait for her to come up with the contentious words, slut, whore, and wife by herself, and see her reaction.

Chances are, before a woman even learned to talk her parents were reading her "Cinderella." Ever consider what a miserable and cynic tale that is? Her godmother never bothers telling Cinderella things like, "You know how much you like horses? Well Prince Charming is an avid rider, so be sure to talk to him about that!" All the godmother does is get her sexied up, complete with clear heels, and makes sure Cinderella has a chance to get Prince Charming all worked up, but leaves the ball before he has a chance to bring her back to his bedroom. Blue-balled and thinking with his dick, Prince Charming makes a massive public campaign to track down that anonymous girl he wants to bone, only to discover to his shock that she's a scullery maid. Now he's fallen into her godmother's trap. Either he loses face with the peasants and nobility when it turns out he went wild over a lowborn nobody, or he saves face by elevating her through lifelong marriage. At no time were Cinderella's brains or even heart a factor in this transaction, just her body.

Discuss.

So one of my friends, a man made a spoof female account with no info and no pictures for a laugh.

Just a made up name. He got over 30 messages in 1 day all consisting of "Hey baby!" or "How u doin?" etc.

Women who are even vaguely good get hundreds. Women have the power to choose who they date online because of that. And a lot of good messages get lost in the shuffle. I have female friends who have tried it, they say this is the case.

You need to stop seeing everything from the perspective of power/not-power. It only hurts you.

Doesn't change the fact that men are easily replaceable. Good, decent men who would have given their all (and then some).

Anyway, I'm tired. And I still have other things to do.

It's past 10pm here in the UK. G'night.

I've read your posts- from the opinions you have shared and the 'realities' you seem to think exist it draws a pretty clear picture of the kind of person you are and where your priorities are.

My post was not a personal attack, just calling you out. You seem cool with painting billions of people with the same brush based on your vast experience; I didn't generalize anything, I addressed you alone based on your direct words.

Kind of funny you are basically calling all women money grubbing whores and then play the woe is me card when you get called out for the misogynist you obviously are. If you feel you aren't, you should probably be more careful how you present your opinions. Judging by the way you are back peddling in your subsequent posts at least it seems you have realized it..

Seriously, like 2 pages of you saying 'women are nothing but gold diggers and heartless bitches' and you're surprised somebody called you a misogynist? I had been following the thread up until that post and hadn't responded because it seemed pointless, but that post was too over the top not to say something.

Replayme, what you're doing is much the same as someone saying: "All men are rapists. OK, I'm generalizing... maybe not all men. But they can't all be non-rapists! So basically, all men are rapists. Don't believe me? Here, read this eye opening article by some angry person with an axe to grind who argues that all men are rapists. What? You're saying I'm full of shit? Me too. Let's make it interesting, then. Tell us a story of you being wronged by a woman. Whether it be something heartbreaking like a divorce, or just incredibly rude, like asking you to meet her at a bar across town and never showing up. No need to include identifying details, you're a brain floating in a jar, as far as we can tell.
