Thank you very much, TonK!

Re: How would you feel about PC releases of Cave games?
I voted yes because I think that the PC is the best system for any kind of game in which precision control is important and because I find that playing on the Xbox 360 makes it nearly impossible to make swift and accurate dodges. I have done my best to try and get used to it but in the end, I'm just not having fun so my only hope to play Cave's games is through emulation even if I'd much rather give them my money instead and get a port I can use.
I'm happy though not surprised to see a majority of the votes so far claiming that they'll buy PC ports of Cave games. I am quite bothered by the amount of people who have voted that they don't want ports to be made.
What are you guys' problem? What bad does it do you that some more people get's to enjoy your games?

Re: How would you feel about PC releases of Cave games?
Even if they claim possible glitches and bugs, they're gonna stick anyway to the console and PCB as I doubt Cave won't release Console ports even if they start PC distribution... so the people that doeesn't like PC's won't have any problem.
Anyway, the Steam Idea came from Cagar but the Poll is really about "PC ports". It doesn't have to be through Steam.

Sorry about that ^^U I got tired of copypasting every name on the list and had a break when it reached my post count.Teufel_in_Blau wrote:Great, now I feel like an outsider because I don't have over 350 posts.![]()
Somebody mind to post the pm so I can at least pretend to be part of this coterie?
Edit: Posted the PM on the first post of the thread.

Yeah, I'd buy. Providing it was a physical release without DRM. Which basically isn't going to happen in the PC market due to rabid fear of piracy. Because no-one has ever cracked PC DRM

Agreed. It's like the student government representatives asking if I've voted yet or that annoying prick at the cell phone kiosk at the mall. I ignore them on the first pass, then kindly tell them I'm not fucking interested if they dare to stop me on the return pass. Or telemarketers. Hell, I see the threads all over the place. I'll chime in if I can see the point, like the Turrican Kickstarter thread.Smraedis wrote:I'm not sure if the PM spamathon was a good idea...
Additionally, I'd like to say I enjoyed your Darius Gaiden replay on YouTube. I guess that's related to the topic at hand since it had a PC port that... hit bargain bins like crazy. I would know, that's where I got my copy back in my freshman year of high school.
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.
Re: How would you feel about PC releases of Cave games?
I voted "yes" because I demand more whining from people who throw eugenics-justifying tantra about random PM spam, more DTP complaining about Cave not letting him win, more complaints about tiny graphical details not being perfect, and so on.
Also, if PCB holders would feel butt-hurt about their precious collections dipping 0.01 cents in value, then I would purr in joy to the theme of Brooks' The Inquisition.

I fall into category number two. In fact, I fail to see why anyone wouldn't at least fall into that category. I likely wouldn't buy any PC ports via Steam, but I certainly wouldn't mind them existing if it ends up being in Cave's best interest.

And that's the funniest thing I've read all week.Randorama wrote:I demand more whining from people who throw eugenics-justifying tantra about random PM spam
I was vaguely relieved when I first saw the PM that it wasn't somebody trying to guilt trip me into selling things on the cheap when I'm not ready yet.
Then I saw the topic, but as I stared at the text I got kinda confused. Now I see why I ought to write less!
(Point + brevity = SUCCESS)
Not voting at this moment, because:
Would? How about...might?Yeah, I would buy their games if they were ported to PC.
Huh? You don't want the games to be ported but you want a PC port? CONTRADICTION SIRSNo, but I wouldn't mind a PC port to exist.
...know bout the secret ingredient in Bush's Baked Beans?Yeah, But with limited options on scoreboards since i doubt PC owners
dey tuk err PC beesNo, Cave games should be released only on consoles and arcades
No, Cave games should be released ONLY on the arcades.
anybody who votes for these last two is trolling, or needs to fall down a mine shaft
More useless poll options plz!

Re: How would you feel about PC releases of Cave games?
I prefer playing shmups on console rather than PC, but I think it would be a good idea to have Cave games on Steam, if for no other reason than to make Valve stop being such a dick about shooting games already.

You do know everyone on this forum are elitists, more or less, right? If they're not self-centered PCB snobs, they're save state fueled score fascists, shittin' on the aforementioned "snobs".Cagar wrote:a few elitist

Why do you even think that CAVE should get more attention through steam??? Are you nuts??? "

Re: How would you feel about PC releases of Cave games?
Yeah, definitely. I have a Saturn USB pad and a 24" screen that swivels. What I don´t have is a TV or a home console (simply due to the lack of apartement space).
I don´t know much about Steam, but that platform makes it pretty hard to pirate games, right? I would hate it if they actually made the effort to do PC ports only to get pirated to hell and back.

What kind of a sad, pathetic person do you have to be to actually vote for one of these options? No, Cave games should be released only on consoles and arcades

I would love it if CAVE games were on as many platforms as possible. I love that these games are even on iOS, even it isn´t exactly the most perfect way to play them (although I really enjoy Futari).

Re: How would you feel about PC releases of Cave games?
I don't own a PC, but if Cave want to port there great. But I do agree it may spread a small company too thin. Right now (from consulting on their PAL Xbox 360 releases and listening to their talk at GDC) I get a feeling they're at a point of experimentation and uncertainty. They need to turn a profit, and mobile seems to be the place where other adaptive traditional Japanese games developers are thriving, at least in Cave's mind. Their whole talk at GDC was just about how much you can make from mobile 'card' games in Japan. Steam and Cave are very different companies in terms of company culture and such, and Cave already have a lot of eggs in a lot of different baskets.
Still, it's worth a shot! They listen on Twitter, so hassle them there!
Seriously though - I voted. For number two. Would have been number one, but as mentioned I don't own a PC.

Let's get more ports so we can all bitch about bugs that never get fixed, screenmodes that don't fit our lowres CRTs, input lag and slowdown inaccuracies. All comparisons made with the PCB, the elitists choice, of course.
Re: How would you feel about PC releases of Cave games?
I don't know what all the bitching is about in this thread. Hell yes I'd buy Cave ports on PC.
And with the recent news that Valve is looking at bringing Steam to Linux, I'm doubly excited.
