Xbox 360 release?
http://ns2.x360a.org/game/dodonpachi-ma ... ievements/

Edit: well looking through the forums on Xbox360Achievement, it's labeled under Windows 7(Game) section

Yes, it's WP7 only.

And by the looks of the achievements(the bosses), it could be a game where they just threw old assets together to make a quick "new WP7 exclusive" to make microsoft happy :p

(I'm planning on getting a smartphone myself in the next few months so I guess I'll get a closer look at Cave support on WP7 and Android...)

I'm guessing it'll be DFK: Remix Edition with DOJ's game system and some hastily cobbled together new bosses.

No way it's not going to show up on iPhones and Androids, either.

Well, if it is 360 bound, then it's XBLA (only 200 achievement pts.. a full retail release has 1000). But yeah, I can see this is WP7.

Also, what an odd assortment of bosses.

the 200G here are for that one and only WP7 version. there has been no signs of a 360 version, and until we get to see it could be more that a smartphone shmup, I wouldn't get my hopes up...

Trust me, I'm not getting my hopes up for some weird-ass cobbled-together sprite-rip game (another DDP2... lololol). But would it be that difficult for them to convert from WP7 to XBLA?

As was mentioned, they might be deliberately making this a Windows Mobile exclusive to boost interest in the platform.

Exactly. WP 7.5 launch or something. Microsoft NEEDS interest in their platform for when Win8 devices start hitting the market next fall.

I don't think it'll be difficult for Cave to port a WP7 game to XBLA, but I'm pretty sure they won't do it, and that it might even be part of the contact for this game, at least for the time being.
Also, given the sales of guwange and the non-release of a pretty much finalized dangun feveron, I'm pretty sure Cave gave up entirely on xbla. (Dangun Kinect as an extra in their next adventure game ? )

If their latest sales report is anything to go on, Cave may have completely given up on the 360 itself.

Instant Brain was an experiment to see if they could expand their market. It didn't work, and that should be all the justification they need to pull out. The PS3 isn't really an option because Sony requires a 16:9 mode for all games.

"All non-social game projects delayed..." Don't expect to ever see that Mushi/Ibara Kuro port.

yeah, that does sound really bad.

not like their "real" fans will be able to live off gree, mobage, and smartphone games...

as for 16:9 what about NEO GEO Station? (Maybe psn has different policies than retail)

CAVE, just fucking finish port your stuff, I don't care much at all about the rest...

It's time for Cave to do an iPhone port of their one game that actually belongs on the platform: Uo Poko. Market it right, supply it with regular updates, and it could be the next Fruit Ninja/Cut the Rope success story. Or does Jaleco still own the license? Didn't stop them from making Mushi-tama.

Alternatively, a Kinect-based Yanya Caballista comeback. (lol)

And yes, the 16:9 rule only applies to PS3 retail games. Something about not wanting to diminish the perceived value of Blu-ray.

Well that's retarded, but there really isn't a point to argue with it I guess...

No conversion required. WP7 development is done in C#/XNA. Most XBLA games are C++ but C#/XNA is fully supported on XBLA. There's a handful of C# games already on XBLA.

XBLA still a possibility at some point given how little work would be required:

How many dodonpachi games are they making....

My guess is this is a new arcade title or a yet another arcade revision of doj.

I guess this is not for Xbox360, because they don't show the 360-Logo, like they usually did in the past, platform switch incoming :o

Linked together with the same Evac stuff, I'm guessing this be a loophole to recycle much of whatever DDPMax turns out to be onto other platforms. 'Prolly iOS.

Yep. I really want to believe this will be a return to form for Cave, and not another recycled/rehash for mobile platforms. But I've pretty much lost faith in that years ago. :(

My faith in Cave will be restored if this EVAC push is indeed heralding a new arcade release. Hell, if they're still using the SH3, it may become the first PCB I own.

Confirmed to be an arcade game. Cave's back in business for real, baby.

DDP SDOJ is getting a location test at HEY from February 3 to 5. Hopefully one of our intrepid Japan-located field agents will be able to make it out there.

Wonder who's distributing. AMI is gone, and I haven't heard of Annex since DFK BL. Maybe Cave can do it themselves this time? Also--SH3, Type-X, or RingWide/RingEdge? Thankfully, answers to these questions are likely not more than a week away.
