The demo didn't impress me. It's nice to see Cave experimenting, but this wasn't a successful experiment.

I really like it. The jump *is* weird, as suspected, but you get used to it quickly enough. The only other negative is the collision detection on jumps - initially, knowing when you're going to land and when you're going to fall through is kind of unintuitive - but then you realise that it's linked to the character's 'stick' and things fall into place.

The Cave logos are purely for the achievement, I guess. Unless there's an unlockable for collecting them all.

So, yeah, I think it's pretty cool. I like the visual effects, bar the silly 3D audience silhouettes (which you forget all about after roughly five seconds anyway), the music is decent and the whole thing is actually quite compulsive.

But then, I like time attack platformers and that's precisely what this is.

I thought Nin2 had promise but it was pretty bland. Some some cool ideas, but man it was pretty boring right from the beginning. The main reason i bought the game was in hopes that a) cave will actually donate this to the relief and b) if they do whoever handles it from there does not take it for themselves. Probably the complete opposite.

Adventure mode is pretty unremarkable, yeah. It doesn't take much time to beat and most of the stages are really easy. Score Attack is a lot of fun though. Play that instead.

I think this looks good.

N+ already has.
Other than N+ being not as good as Super Meat Boy you are exactly correct.

Oh, they added online co-op to Super Meat Boy? Tell me more.

Nin2 would have been better if they removed the projector-like appearance as well as allowing a configurable button system.

I can't complain too much for 400 points, but the fixed buttom scheme thing is really just lazy work.

Nin2 would have been better if the game were any fun to play. :)

I dunno, somehow they managed to make the graphics blurry AND pixelated at the same time.
Some weird filtering going on there.

Other than that i couldn't get in to it yet, but then again i only cleared the first world so far.

@Sumez

Guwange/MMP fine for me hombre, lookin' real fresh, especially through SLG3000 for extra scanline rawsumness!

Anyways, as for N2, as above, fixed buttons meh, but likin' it so far. Would be better on mobile format IMO. And glad to be helping the Jap quake cause too. So, on balance, all good.

Ciao hermanos!

Can you make them look fine on a horizontal TV as well? I can't seem to find a zoom factor that allows the graphics look clean, at least not without tate'ing the monitor, which isn't possible on my main TV.

I'm mostly concerned with a game being fun, which SMB is and N2 isn't. Plus, who plays these kinds of games co-op?

Also, you can change the button config for SMB on the PC (which I have).

Probably the thousands of people who bought the XBLA release of N+, that's who.

Are you confusing N+ for N2?

Their loss.

Yup. Given that N+ is the second N game, I mistakenly called it N2.

My review of it is online now: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/ ... eview.html

Solid, but likely to be overshadowed compared to the two other games this week. Still, there's a lot of quality here for a pretty low price.
I most definitely hate your favorite shooter.
For the sake of our own sanity, let's not even talk about Psikyo, Battle Garegga, or DDP DOJ with each other.

Think of it as donating a few bucks to the Japan relief funds and getting a free game?
