Hmmm I guess my main goals would be finishing games I've started on but haven't put the proper time into
1cc Futari original and original BL, get a decent start on maniac
1cc Deathsmiles
1cc Battle Bakraid (I can reach the last level on a cold run, I just need to put some time into it)
Possibly a Espgaluda 1cc since I don't need to fiddle with swap discs to play it anymore

On the hardware side
refine my stick building skills
wall mount my tv or get a monitor that can tate
mod my gfs stick and get her to play shmups

Since I think I already sold off most of the games that I actively dislike already, I want to learn to enjoy the remaining games in my back-catalog well enough to put in the necessary effort to learn2play them "correctly".

Death Smiles IIX: 10,000,000,000 or better on II X mode. (I just got this, and I've done one 1CC with 1.3 Billion starting out with Level 2 stages. I used to be put off by videos of the arcade game on Youtube, but I took EOJ's recommendation for it- this looks 100x better when it's running on your own Xbox 360).
Giga Wing: Kill that damned TLB on one credit.
Ketsui: 1-credit the first loop at least
EspGaluda: Kill Jakou on one credit. I've reached him on one credit before.
DDP Daifukkatsu: 1 credit 1-ALL.
DDP DOJ: Daifukkatsu comes first for me DDP-wise, but I'll try to do something with DOJ.

Other stuff, not shmup related:
Razing Storm: 4,000,000+.

As far as playing sober, as Cmoon once said, a drink or two can loosen you up a bit and help with reaction time. I've found it true myself. But, yeah, once you go over that limit you can kiss your game goodbye.

I'd like to 1CC an arcade shmup via MAME. Gekirindan doesn't seem too hard after doing some reading on the score and strat forums.

I'd like to add to my PCE collection, notably the shmups. I've got quite a few good ones, but I'd like to get more Compile titles, the Star Soldiers, and the Rayxanber games. Sapphire would be fun to own, but I don't want to spend the money on a real copy. A playable counterfeit I'd go for.

Continue to experience the best and worst in shmups. Make fun of the bad ones in reviews, praise the good ones in forums.

Maybe actually draw a sprite or two.

TBH Ive wanted to do Raiden 3 aswell and narrowly missed from been added to my list just for the sake not setting myself too many challenges. Ill keep a eye out on the HS section and if I see Raiden 3 (and its later on in the year) pop up I might join in, just dont expect any major competion as I progress very slowly when it comes to 1CCing shmups (although improving in this aspect is something I intend to be working on)

I am pretty new here, but would not mind working on this game with some friendly competition.
I've only 1cc'd up to lvl 3 but I haven't put any effort into it for quite a while. I can not get tired of the stage 2 music though, so I could play this game forever

Raiden games need more love around here. Raiden I-IV are awesome, Raiden Fighters series is awesome, DX is awesome.

Like nZero, I've been going through my collections and just getting rid of all the games I don't really really love. Bouncing between games is gettin' me nowheres. =(

My goal is to find time to play a shmup for more than one credit. Terra Cresta, Ibara, and Raizing shmups are the most likely candidates for more serious play, but I haven't even had time to think about what I would play if I had time.

Viewpoint shouldn't be any problem. Twin Cobra counterstop will be harder (mostly finding the time to actually play it) but it should be doable.

I am pretty new here, but would not mind working on this game with some friendly competition. :D

- Get a good score in HellSinker

non shmups:

- Get good at VO Force (being able to beat most players, use high level techniques etc..)
- Begin to rival some of the best western VOOT players and train some new people
