You want to see them? The annoying part is that it doesn't distinguish by difficulty, just by ship. Who knows why.

Well, I don't know if everyone else will agree, but I think it would be a cool idea as a competition (hint hint). You're right, its sort of silly that they distinguish by ship BUT not by difficulty. I have to tally mines down (I keep a chart with all my high scores, but that section is a little outdated), but I'll do that soon. I'd love to see other peoples.
Code: Select all
Stage Top Score Subtotal
1 3484980 3053100
2 5064400 7672200
3 7543100 15215300
4 3711710 17910640
5 3878200 21788840

Those are quite good! So far I only have bests for the first three course, as I haven't been able to beat the fourth stage (without Credits). Not like they would be good anyway.
(Astraea-1... I assume all of yours are Endimion-2?)
1st. 3437290
2st. 5054100
3st. 6980700
I think it is also possible to get CLOSE to 4m in stage one, though I don't know if its possible to get higher. As for 2st., you probably know you need to get a x16 on the boss, which isn't horrible easy to do. My 3st. one could be better if I could manage to get a x16 on the stage boss there...

Bad idea. There's a huge difference. For example, dying on stage 4 or stage 5 boss with no weapon is REALLY painful. Most of us aren't 1-lifers.Carmen wrote:By the way, maybe we should combine the no weapon/starting weapon lists? As soon as somebody earns an arm or two, they'll always use that, and even so, the list will show that they don't use a starting arm?

I don't know...why not just keep it separate? I'll try and submit a score for it soon so it doesn't look so empty.

The score tables will remain as they are, as the difference between a credit played with a selected Gunpod to start, and a credit played without any selected Gunpod is huge. Scores can differ by several millions, and players using a Gunpod to start have a large advantage over the "naked ship" players, as they have an easier time recovering from death, and taking down bosses.
Unfortunately, with the differences between the Japanese and NA versions adding to the pile, it means there is a large amount of tables that need to be maintained.
I would like to see an ALL done without a starting Gunpod, though ^_-

HARD DIFFICULTY
12,673,820 - AOTD3025 - 4 - Endymion Mk. II - FLASH - [JPN]
No Wasps at the beginning of L4. Argh . . .
Fun things to do with Hedgehogs:
-Towards the end of L4 where there's a bunch of enemy ships on pylons on the ceiling, try to score a 16X by quickly creating a line of Hedgehogs and destroying all of (or nearly all of) the things simultaneously..
-Against Ausf De Gestell (gorilla-like boss midway through L5), try leaving a little surprise in the spot where it's going to land.

Not a new score, not yet sadly, but I just picked up the Japanese version of the game (I had sold the US version a year or so ago), and wow, you won't believe how different it is! Well, its really not that different (I haven't played it too much yet though) but whoever said you can pretty much just use Wasps or Cannons exclusivly wasn't joking!
Hopefully new scores to help fill up the table a little more as I spend some time on it but it'll have to wait until I 1cc Gradius V!

Actually, in the JPN version, the Spreader's rate of fire does change depending on the distance from the target/how far up you are on the screen.AOTD3025 wrote:The Spreader seems to have a fixed rate of fire in the Japanese version. In other words, it doesn't matter whether you're close or far from a target; no matter how quickly you tap the fire button, you'll get a constant rate of fire.
Anyway, my scores:
HARD DIFFICULTY
18,849,510 - Moleculoman - 6 - Astraea - Cannon/Flash - [JPN]

62,415,720 - Moleculoman - 7 - Selene - Cannon/Flash - [JPN]
Wow, those are really good! I'm sort of embarassed to post my own new scores now...
Anyway this is from the Japanese version...
8 909 700 - Carmen - 4 - Astraea-1 - JUNO/RIOT
Very tough game... incredibly punishing and at times it seems you need the improvisational skills of a jazz master to do well!

Heh..I see the scores haven't been updated. In any case, I came across another slick Einhander fansite that has a scoreboard. I'll just say that the scores posted there are, quite honestly.....unbelievable, but in a good way.
9234:Einhander Unofficial Fansite
The top score is 74 million or so. The player used the Astraea Mk. I on HARD. Being a fellow Astraea player, it baffles me how such a feat can be accomplished. I can come close too/match those scores, but only using the Astraea Mk. II (the Selene). To the player's credit, there is a readable screen shot provided that shows the score in the battle record stat page for the game, shown when you click on the score.
In most cases I'd give the player the benefit of the doubt. You can never rule out an emulator being used, or a cheat device, but it really doesn't seem like the case here. It definitely sets a high bar for players to shoot for!

It's possible to get over 4 million with the Astraea Mk. II (Selene), and the Astraea Mk. I. I'd tentatively say you maybe able to get 5 mil. Probably have to break your neck to top 4 mil with the Endymion's, but definitely looks doable on paper.Carmen wrote:I think it is also possible to get CLOSE to 4m in stage one, though I don't know if its possible to get higher.
As for tech points, from a lot of play throughs, the whole checkpoint theory sounds plausible. Only thing I can say for sure is that you can still receive an S rank for Tech points if you only die once or twice during the the latter stages (6 & 7) and beat the game.
Lastly, I made a good run today. Topped my old Selene score. A scoreboard for that fighter should be added as well.
