And Evaccania DOOM (or whatever) is evac, which is a pun in Japanese.CRI wrote:now read evac backwards.

There's more puns, but I can't think of them right now. I know Daioujou has a few, including Daioujou.
Re: Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi Extra (XBox 360)

Just got this, and I'm already really happy. The menu system is really slick, the graphics look great with nearest neighbor and 100% overscan, and I really needed a really simple and fun game like this after so much ESPGaluda II (two buttons vs four buttons makes such a difference). I already knew I really liked this game, so it's kind of unreal to a) finally have this in my cab and b) not have it suck in all the ways that DOJBLEX did.

Re: Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi Extra (XBox 360)
What's your solution for the controls? A PS2 padhack?
Re: Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi Extra (XBox 360)
Please tell me you remembered to set auto-rensha.dmauro wrote:The menu system is really slick, the graphics look great with nearest neighbor and 100% overscan, and I really needed a really simple and fun game like this after so much ESPGaluda II (three buttons vs four buttons makes such a difference).

Yes, with the korean adapters for the 360 (they work really well). See also:Jockel wrote:What's your solution for the controls? A PS2 padhack?

Kiken, what's auto-rensha? Rapid-fire? I did set it up, but it doesn't seem like I have much need for it in Ketsui.
Re: Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi Extra (XBox 360)
Looking very hot, dmauro. Now get to Kinkos and print a Ketsui move sticker for it!
Edit: Autofire is very nice to have in Ketsui, as IIRC, the lock shot will be triggered slightly faster when you press and hold A and C at the same time than just pressing/holding A.

Yeah, I'm going to move the 3S move list to the hori cab to replace the TvC list, but I think I'm actually going to put an ESPGaluda strip on there just because the colors are nice.emphatic wrote:Looking very hot, dmauro. Now get to Kinkos and print a Ketsui move sticker for it!

Re: Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi Extra (XBox 360)
Oh wow, 5pb. messed up the copyright notice again. It says 2009, yet the game was released in 2010. They did the same thing for DOJBLEX, with a copyright of 2008, yet it was released early 2009.
Re: Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi Extra (XBox 360)
I really like this game, but I do think it's a bit over hyped. It's not my favorite cave game and it's not in my top 3 either. But I do like it just like any cave title, never met one I didn't like.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
Re: Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi Extra (XBox 360)
A Brooklyn shmupmeet featuring Ketsui would be kick ass.

Agreed. I emphasized Brooklyn because that is likely the only way I'll get to play this for a while.emphatic wrote:^fixedNR777 wrote:Any shmupmeet featuring Ketsui would be kick ass.

Well, it was supposed to be released in 2009, so I imagine the copyright date would be the same.Elixir wrote:Oh wow, 5pb. messed up the copyright notice again. Re: Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi Extra (XBox 360)
get used to using the autofire....it helps with scoring, and as emph said, it triggers the lock shot faster and gives you more chips off popcorn....dmauro wrote:Yes, with the korean adapters for the 360 (they work really well). try it on the first few swarms on the 1st stage, you will see the difference
man...this is all making me really miss my ketsui pcb

might be able to afford it again by the end of the summer if i play my cards right...a slight price drop would be nice as well

sorry, I didn't pick this up. I hink it's a great shmup but not my favorite from cave.NR777 wrote:A Brooklyn shmupmeet featuring Ketsui would be kick ass.

This game is like being thrown into a bath of ice-water after lazily floating my way to a 1CC in Futari 1.5 Original and Deathsmiles. It's nice to get that old Cave flavor, which I've been without since drifting away from DOJ in the last few years.
Gotta give a shout out to Death Label too as a training tool. The stages are kind of kicking my ass in the early going here, but I'm doing really well against the bosses thanks to my practice on DL.

Ok, I'm usually a bit skeptical when a game gets hyped up a lot but goddamn does this game rule hard.
I'm sorry Espgaluda 2, but between Ketsui and Futari you're going to be collecting dust for a while.

I just gave X mode a shot. It's a little different than I realized. I thought it was just regular Ketsui with bullet canceling on certain enemies, but actually, you can only get chips by starting your chip timer on those bullet cancel enemies. Once you get going you can just clean up grabbing 5 chips from everyone for quite some time, which makes it pretty easy. I got to 1-4 with a score of 125mil on my first go. It could be a lot of fun, but I'm going to stick to arcade mode for now since I've never had a chance to really dig into this one.
Re: Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi Extra (XBox 360)
My copy also arrived today, spent 45 minutes on it. I couldn't believe how great this port is, and the game itself is much harder than I thought.

I did kind of expect this board to blow up from all of the Ketsui love (I really hope it moves enough copies!). I hope that it just seems kind of quiet because not alot of people have gotten theirs in the mail yet.
Re: Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi Extra (XBox 360)
I forgot to mention this earlier, but feel free to use the restart option on the first level: it does not keep your score from going on the scoreboard, and you can even still submit your score to XBL if you're playing an XBL game. I haven't tried it on other levels, but I'm going to assume that won't work.

The funny thing is that this is the sort of game that I am much less prone to immediately restart than something like ESPGaluda II, so it's almost wasted on me.Special World wrote:Thank fucking GOD.dmauro wrote:I forgot to mention this earlier, but feel free to use the restart option on the first level: it does not keep your score from going on the scoreboard, and you can even still submit your score to XBL if you're playing an XBL game. It's just one of those simple things that add up to a great game.

Maybe because it was so overhyped, everyone is trying to keep cool about it.Battlesmurf wrote:I did kind of expect this board to blow up from all of the Ketsui love (I really hope it moves enough copies!). That or they have got their copies and are too busy playing it.
<-- Hasn't got his copy yet ..

And yes, I have played the arcade version on more than one occasion. It's awesome.
