I liked Greg's rant also....
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

What a neat and nifty optical illusion there, Elixir. The brain processes the off-colors and reverts them back to their proper colors when the photo switches to black & white for a few seconds. Then you suddenly see that it really is all b&w.

Plot aside, I think it was the best looking movie I've ever seen. Even with the plot I loved it.

Nieces, their mother and girlfriend of mine were pleased with the movie.

Story is really classic, not quite enough developped some times, but always clear and grapping enough to retain my attention for 3 hours, which some X files episodes dont manage sometimes. Visuals are stunning of course !
No need of a second view though.

Just saw it. Was my first RealD 3D film, and oh boy did it make this movie pretty.

Story wasn't bad at all, but was really predictable [but nothing is new, ever, so the point is a bit moot]. My head hurt from the 3d at some points [having stuff in the foreground that you cannot focus on is bad, you hear me! BAD!], but it really was a treat to see. It's a shame they didn't bring it out more outside of the human base, there were a couple things popping out outside, but not many.

The movie is definitely something to recommend to others though. For $10, I couldn't have had a better couple of hours.

If there's one thing I really liked about the movie: they're on a moon. Much more plausible to find a moon with life orbiting a large planet [easier, because the planet it large] than to find a small planet just floating out in space.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

I actually didn't figure out that the animals would come to the rescue, despite the thick armor and collective consciousness setup. Did everyone else?

That's petty neat. Had to wait for it to change once to make sure it wasn't going jump out and scare me.

The 3D stuff wasn't as cool as I'd hoped for. It was not worth the 14 euro ticket, not by a long shot. The only part that was really "wow" was when the ashes from the big tree was flying around. I actually tried to wave them off me

The movie itself was quite good though. I always liked James Cameron, and while it wasn't a new The Abyss it was certainly a good movie. Nice themes and happy ending always does it for me. The only wtf/lol/omg part was why Sigourney weaver is looking hotter at the age of 60 than she ever did before.

Just saw it today in 3D. If I reflect on the "agenda" oriented stuff (anti-oil, anti-military, etc.) it seems cheap and silly. If I reflect on the fantasy of it, I thought it was one of the best executed fantasy/sci-fi films I've ever seen :D

After six weeks of trying to get a ticket at the local cinema, I got two prime seats for this last night for myself and the lady.

I enjoyed it for what it was. Cameron is expert at spoon feeding the audience with chunks of easily digestible entertainment and not making 3 hours feel taxing.
Worthington was a better actor as the blue thing and some of the dialogue was a bit cringeworthy. The political comparisons to the US government were embarassing and unecessary - we already know they like to blow shit up, no point in re-iterating it.

Despite loads of 'you-fill-in-the-gaps' plot holes and science trivia, an undeveloped cast and the most hackneyed plot ever, it was still fun. I forgot about the 3D after a bit, but never forgot it was beautiful to look at.

It lacked grit, which was a shame. Had this been made ten years ago it might have been a little less Disney (or Bluth, depending on how you take it), but I could deal with it.

Not the life changing experience some people seem to think it is, but some kind of return to form for Hollywood, yes. It didn't out-do Apocalypto in the 'event' movie standard (which is the last example I can think of that was any good) but it's still the best no-brainer in ages, and proves that Cameron is far more capable of making such a movie than most of the jokers who have flushed cinema down the toilet over the last decade.

Neither I did, though it was a Deus Ex Machina, which always makes me go like "Ok, the writer didn't know how to solve the conflict of the movie"

I just saw it yesterday. Yes, the plot isn't incredibly good, but I personally found it to be good enough... and the fact that's in 3D made me feel more part of that world, and fell really sad when it begun to be destroyed.

I was in awe wathing the movie... it's probably the greatest experience I've ever had in a movie theater. You can forgive the sometimes bad dialog, the not so original plot and the Deus Ex Machina ending, just because the whole experience is indeed extremely breathtaking. Unlike other movies before, this wasn't about a movie justification for 3D, this movie NEEDED 3D to be told properly. It's an amazing movie, and they shouldn't even bother releasing this on DVD... this was made to be watched in a huge movie theater screen with the best surround sound you can get and 3D projection.

I miss sci-fi movies with the color black (Blade Runner, The Thing, Escape from New York, Aliens). Today no one wants to hide their big-budget puppets. They might as well since they always end up looking like video game models in five years time.

3D with gubbins in November.

It's not a shitty 3D anything. That's some of the best CGI ever produced, ever.

The story is dumb, but if you were watching that movie for the story then you probably have hyper-nerd-autism and/or need to go outside instead of using the computer ASAP.
