I don't like the way the top entries look but overall it's a big win for readability. I am surprised how much strange stuff I had stuck in there (a few things have survived the edit, as easter eggs, I suppose!). For posterity, here's the way the original format score board looked, fully updated with the latest scores:
Rules: Single-player game, normal difficulty, extends at 2 million and 6 million. Autofire OK (it's basically a convenience; there's a limit on how quickly each shot comes after the last - three allowed vertically at a time).
Format: Is simple. Put your name in front of the items you see at the name entry screen, add other info at the end.
Full name - score - 3 letter initials - plane used - Stage reached - Game version (only if non-JAPAN) / other info you wish to regale us with
Example:
Pidgin Joes - 62,557 - EAJ - Galeria - ALL - Japan (MAME Plus! 0.135 - Autofire ON)
For the planes, you can write "third column, second tier" for the seventh plane (the lower green one). If you can't remember which plane you used, the P1 side choices can be seen on this review.
