I'd really like to know that. I hope so, other wise what's the point? (though I'll be sad to see my scores tumble down the boards!

EDIT: Embarrassing spelling mistakes!

Will it be Region Free, i live in the UK and have a Pal 360. I can't buy a new 360 just for this as i can't see how i could justify myself spending that money.

I have sent emails to UFO Interactive but they just ignore me, it seems Uk/EU aint getting no Shmup love

Do UFO even distribute outside the US? Perhaps your efforts would be better spent contacting European distributors like 505 GameStreet.

I got confused talking about contacting UFO.

505 did publish Raiden III in the UK, so it would make sense to contact them, but all there is is their pesky contact form. I'm searching their press site for a general address, but no joy yet...

Earth to MADEIRA STEVE88: WE DON'T USE PAL IN THE USA. The UFO release will be NTSC so it probably won't help you if it's region-free. You will need an NTSC 360 and an NTSC TV to play it. Or some kind of converter.

Practically every european TV manufactured in the last 10-15 years supports both PAL and NTSC (and PAL60) so playing imports is just as easy here as anywhere.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Yh this is true, that why if i hear Raiden IV is region free il import that straight away. Now the guy above said if its the same price as aces it wont be, but its going to be $60 so does that make it more of a chance to be region free?

I don't know where you got that info from, but UFO's own website states that it's going to be $39.99, not $60.

All in all, everyone's in for a real treat. My opinion is slanted somewhat because I am such a huge fan of the series, but I can still say this game will live up to your expectations.

nice post! this has me anticipating the release more now.

$39.99?

Seems a bit high. Hope we get the music CD if that is indeed going to be the price.

Just saw that Gamestop finally has this for pre-order.. Are the pre-order extras the same as what ships with the Japanese version?

Pretty much the same, but a little better in a way.

The JPN Raiden IV came with the soundtrack in the box. The Secret Files disk was available as an exclusive preorder bonus (I think), and is a disk with a load of stuff on including a cover you can print yourself, and was

So on the US version you get that all bundled together, rather than having to source a mate who can make you a copy of Secret Files (Mr H?)...
