Well, I think you're handling things fine racketboy. I just think that quite a few flags were raised and people were concerned about the quality and civility of your forums.
I'm not nearly as stressed about this guy as some seem to be, I just enjoy being a member on a site with virtually zero flame wars. The boat doesn't get rocked much, so when it does, everyone takes note.

I can sum it up for you, there's a post in our trading forum, listing just some of the names he had used to rip people off, or attempt to.
It was posted in 2005, and he was an infamous scammer long before that. He's one of the few people with a lifetime ban from the forum, which stretches across even different bits of forum software.

Thanks -- the nice thing is I had two people contact me about the situation before the thread blew up. You have to remember not all of my conversations happen on the public forum. I have a number of people that help me out and keep their eyes open for bad stuff.
I guess we're a little spoiled that things are a bit more casual and laid back over there, but it's nice to know there's enough cross-forum membership of smart/experienced people like those here that can spread the word when necessary.

lol -- that's funny.
I'm not gonna pull a ban just yet, but there are many eyes keeping watch at my place. One bad move and he's gone.
lol -- Actually, Snowkitty alone is probably enough to keep anyone from giving him money.

Nope -- not a bad thing. I'm glad you take the initiative
Actually I think removing Japhei from your forum would encourage him to create parachute accounts immediately. I think perhaps you should just keep an eye on your trading section, and if there's something rare and arcade related for sale over there, let us know (or just annoy bloodflowers lots and lots). Be it arcade boards, cabs, MVS cartridges or even arcade parts.
I'm like a day or two late, but I'm quite amused by the guy's HARD FACTS about how he's single-handedly responsible for arcade gaming throughout the world. ( )

Muchos años después, frente al pelotón de fusilamiento...
Well, apparently he's read the posts here.
I just got a rather upset PM from him with his threat to leave.
I told him that I haven't outright accused him of anything, but apparently conversing with shmups.com is enough in his book.
As I've stated before, I try to remain neutral as an admin, but its my duty to at least be cautious. It's also not my duty to stand up for him (obviously)
When I first started reading I began preparing rebuttals in my head... then I realized I'd have to address every line. The CPS3 thing was the most glaring for me. CPS3 recovery is worldwide, thanks.

I know.....as soon as I saw this i made a post about it on racket. Then I decieded....ugh I'd rather not get involved, I get enough hate mail the way it is. I just checked back today and obviously some other people saw the post too.

one less thing to worry about, I guess.
No...he's still posting. But I can't beleive he threated to leave in the first place, that's bizzare.
