i charge TAP punches too much i think, but your dhalsim is solid. lag was a bit hit and miss, but not terrible, i'll definitely hit you up for some more games in the future

(the guy i had money on just lost 13-12 :x )

that was around the time the text stopped working. i was really annoyed because there was one point where after i bit you with blanka, i tried baiting the DP, you just stood there, and when i went for a ball attack, you fucking DP'd it.

it was beastly 8)

Would this GGPO business help me get better at street fighter 4? I have ST 2 turbo and 3rd strike on the DC but I'm getting destroyed on XBL.

Edit: anyone playing sf4 over xbl let me know if you want a game.

No, the other SF games won't really help you out in SFIV besides the fundamentals of fighting game tactics and reading opponents.

it will help you develop better taste in games :P i haven't played sf4, but it just looks so garish. there are quite a lot of games on ggpo diabollokus, it's just that we tend to play super street fighter 2 turbo. bu there's also kof 98, kof 2002, last blade 2, garou mark of the wolves, xmen vs street fighter, etc etc :)

ganelon: not sure i follow dude :)

jpj don't be a dumbass XD

SF4 is cool (not so good as ST but still)

btw i played with Ex_Mosquito like 21 match. And beat him like only once. He really know the game, i see it. Awesome skill. Also he play Chun Li, so i can learn many stuff from him!!!

P.S. Anyway all 2d fightings beside ST sux compare to GG XD

no, i live in the south-west of england, and ex_mosquito lives in wales :)

i wish i did live near london, it would make attending ST tournaments more feasible. although someone mentioned a website called electronic-dojo to me, which is based around the west midlands, but it looks like they mainly just play sf4 :?

i'm gonna miss being a jobless bum sat on ggpo all day

pretty much dude yeah :) some moves were simplified for hd remix (like 360 degree motions for zangief and t.hawk), but yeah you'll be fine

(and ryu is better than ken :P )

hah yea I main Ryu in SF IV and used to in every other SF game. I just like Kens knee bash schenanigans in HDR. Its faster than Ryus overhead for mixup games. Kens super sucks though and is kinda hard to land compared to Ryus super.

I really need to learn other characters. Ive always liked Boxer but charge moves are so foreign to me. Practice will overcome that, I just dont have the patience

I finally decided to install GGPO after using 2df for a while. The first match of SFAlpha3 I got into in GGPO was killer. The guy played Guy and was doin 14 hit combos on me. 30 matches and I only managed to win once. I learned my lesson, I have to learn combos to ascend my skill. Isn't that always the fighting truth... :D ST is a blast to play.

GGPO's lag spikes are annoying because of the sound tears, but the ability to have spectators makes up for it in a way. I have been re-learning ST gradually playin' w/ some folks like V3rtigo and phat, they are a blast to play. I'll try to logon occasionally and hunt you guys out, or PM me in the shmups IRC sometime.

Speaking of SF IV, I finally got around to trying it out at a friends. It seems pretty legit, but the moves felt kind of easy to pull off. No HUD feature is cool, but I prefer the HUD to be there, lol.

what's your username on ggpo aquas? we'll have to play some ST at some point :)

i've also set up two channels for recording some matches on ggpo. it's just for a bit of a laugh and see if/how i progress over time, and i'll be throwing up some vids of other players that i like. channels are here:

1up: yeah boxer is really strong and not very difficult to learn either. is he still top tier in HDR does anyone know?

He's moved up from 3rd now that o.Sagat is gone, to 2nd or possibly even into 1st place above Dhalsim. afro legends predominantly used boxer to take Evo this year.

so boxer is top tier in old ST? Dont have a clue on the tier list in that. Ive had my TE stick for a months time now and it really helped my SF IV game. I started right out with boxer in SF IV and have gotten better. I cant play shoto at ALL with a stick. Cant even pull of fireballs consistently with the square gate? So im sticking with boxer.

Im afraid to start GGPO as im afraid it will hurt my SF IV game. And my time is limited with me having a kid and all. Will be back soon when I finally make a GGPO account. Will have to try it out sooner or later 8)

Having some problems. I watched a match, and it worked fine. Since then nothing happens when the game loads. just a black screen? Is this a common error?

have your ports been forwarded properly? can you play the game/rom offline? i'm not very tech savvy, best bet is to check on the trouble-shooting section of the ggpo forums :)
