I can't believe no one said this, but "Sensation" from Salamander 2 FTW.
Gradius III (SNES) I love just about every song, especially the final stage. Battle Garegga, ESP Galuda, Ikaruga (although I'm pretty sick of it), Parodius are some great ones. "Universe" and "Fate" from Shiki 2 (stage 2 theme/5-1 boss).
Also DDP's music is excellent in-game, outside the game it's not as great.
I listen to all these and lots of other video game music while riding my bike to work. It's epic.

I can't believe this is the only mention of Karous on here. Never mind how mediocre the game may be considered, the soundtrack is top-notch breakcore. Or whatever the kids call it, techno has become horridly picky in it's genre-distinctions.Jockel wrote:Karous OST!!!!11111oneoneoneeleven
Also, the boss theme in Ikaruga instantly gets the adrenaline pumping.
Though I'm starting to become partial to ESP RA.DE. and Psyvariar 2.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
I'm probably alone with this, but instead of listing the popular good ones (which I really love), I'm going to list a soundtrack which is underappreciated because the game itself is actually quite unknown.
Psyche Metal
Especially the boss track reminds me of good old Doom 95 times.
And while we're at doujin STG's:
Yalkina STG
"Perfection" describes it quite well. I recommend this to everyone, I can't see how anybody can NOT like the last stage track. I'm serious, EVERYBODY just HAS to like it.
