You crazy Europeans and your silly PAL formats.

I'm not really trying to make fun of you guys, it's just you guys sometimes have it rough over there when it comes to videogames. I think regions are stupid anyway, it's a small world after all.

I used to hate Europe just for the Pal tv format... but it´s become the opposite since I started with superguns. :)

Yeah - they really screwed us over with that RGB standard.... ;-) We've got the better hardware over here actually, the real problem is lazy PAL ports.

Speaking of Dreamcast, give Star Wars Episode 1 Racer a spin. Yeah, it's a port of the N64 and takes ages to load on the otherwise uber-fast DC GDRom drive, but the game is fun, and has some nice visuals here and there. And it has VGA and redbook audio. By John I-wrote-the-damned- Star-Wars-musical-score Williams.

Speaking of racing games, anyone else pick up Forza today? I got it, and mostly I've been doing free runs, trying out the various cars and tracks. I'd almost say that PGR2 looked better than Forza does, but this one looks a lot deeper overall. It might be interesting to do some compare and contrast since they have both a track (Nurburgring) and a number of cars in common.

If you want something kinda old school, try the San Francisco Rush series for the N64. Tons of crazy jumps in all the games, and in the Rush 2 and Rush 2049 games, you even have a little car customization. The cars in Rush 1 handle like sh*t however.

Also, supposedly Midway is releasing another Arcade Treasures pack that will feature the arcade verisons of STUN Runner, San Francisco Rush and Rush 2049, and Hydro Thunder. They are also making LA Rush for PS2, but from the sounds of it, looks like they are making a Need for Speed Underground wannabe.

Also, Midnight Club 3: DUB is actually pretty good, despite the fact that it's trying to copy the Underground formula.

Gran Turismo and racing sims bore me to death.

A SF Rush/Rush 2049 release for the current consoles would be a must have, especially if we could get XBox Live support in it. Those are the kind of games for which you really needed the arcade cabs for the full experience though. I have the Dreamcast Rush 2049, and it's a pretty good port, although they did some weird stuff with the gameplay mechanics.
