I thought GaijinPunch was sort of suggesting that unless you had the real article in front of you, you wouldn't be having as much fun as someone who owned the real thing,
I never said anything about enjoyment. I have friends who are quite happy with a cock up their ass. I certainly would find no pleasure in such a thing, but I never try to convince them they can't. I simply said it is advantageous in many games (Ikeda's games, for example) to have your fingers on all three buttons, generally flipping back between A & C, with B thrown in. Many times, a combination of the two held. Unless you have amazingly small hands, this is hard to do on most pads... the Saturn being somewhat exempt.
I enjoy games just fine with keyboard
I am quite aware of that.

You can have thumg + 2 fingers on 3 buttons on a dual shock without using claw method by using shoulders.

Yep. That's what I did when I played Mushi with a dualshock. C shot set to R trigger, A shot set to X. I also put C shot on Circle when I needed to tap C. It worked out pretty great that way.

I think I have Mushi as A - square, B - circle, C - X. I could probably set bomb to R1 and be golden. Especially since I almost never let go of C, just hold A+C when I want to move slower -_^

I find I can't balance the controller properly if I'm dicking around w/ the shoulder pads. That's why I like sticks. Just set them on the ground/table and not worry about it. Also makes going to the arcade easy.

Just for kicks here's another thread with a lot of talk about Ketsui and other PGM Cave games, including some funny talk about 'waiting for Cave to go under because the arcade industry is dying'.

That's twisting what's said there quite significantly.

Oh, sorry, here's some exact quotes so I don't get it twisted.

Personally, I figure that even in Japan Cave's business can't be doing *that* good, so we can just wait for them to go under.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the use of a rom dump without emulation? (Well aside from the people needing the rom dump in order to get emulation of it working.)

I just wonder now I (as a skint PCB owner who buys them when they get cheap, and someone with no personal taste for MAME, or desire to make money) know a little more about both, why MAME and PCBs can't just both coexist. I love the big old chunks of PCB, but if somebody else uses MAME good for them. No bother to me.

And yes. Once I was anti-MAME, but learned there's little reason to be after discussions here.

Yeah. Cave are doing terrible. People only lined up for 6 hours to buy their shit (they turned many more away b/c the place couldn't hold them).

Spadgy, seriously, every second post* of yours is about how you once were anti-MAME and now you aren't, etc., etc. I believe we already get it, you may want to say something new now.

* — purposeful exaggeration.

You will definitely want to read this:

http://www.mameworld.net/gurudumps/lamer.html

This is what he does with emails like yours. Seriously, I'm not making this up. It's nothing personal or anything, but Guru will do that to you if you're not careful in what you email him.

(By the way, if you get a message saying that the "URL could not be retrieved," then the main site is down temporarily. That link does work normally.)

Wow. The man comes off as a big asshole. Maybe if he would spend more time working with the dumps instead of trying (and failing) with witty email responses he could accomplish more.

This man has done more for Mame/Coin-op preservation than you will ever think about doing. He could stop today and everyone should be grateful for what he has done.

DUUURRR MEXICANS ARE DUM DUUURRRRR!!!! That's real witty.

I'm not going to have any respect for someone who makes a shrine to what a big internet tough guy he is, regardless of what he's accomplished. If Ghandi drop-kicked a baby, he'd still be a dick and still deserve a kick in the nads.

All cockstroking of buddies aside, I'm not question his contribution to the mame world. I'm just going off of clicking that link and reading on a guy was asking if something was for sale which he could have answered with a simple yes or no but he did with a pompous response. Just not cool in my book. But for keeping MAME alive and well, definitely an awesome thing.

I wouldn't worry about if it will be done, it's just a case of when it will be done. He might come accross as a bit arrogant, but if you'd been receiving the same dumb emails every single day for the best part of ten years, you might be a little jaded too.
