Seconded.I technically appreciate the fact that you have no taste.
Although I do agree that Dodonpachi's music specifically is an absolutely worthless stinking piece of the worst kind of annoying crap I could ever imagine.
And Shatterhand, nice new avatar you got there.

I just received my 2 copies from play-asia & I must say I'm extremely disappointed with this release.
All 3 games are ports of the inferior DC version which means Rajirugi & Chaos Field do not contain any of the exclusive modes that were found in the GC & PS2 version.
The Wii version of Rajirugi is missing Manpuku Mode, Okawari Mode, Score Attack/Practice Mode, Remix Soundtrack, Exclusive Eyecatches, & Internet Ranking.
The Wii version of Chaos Field is missing Arrange Mode, & Challenge Mode.
The Wii version of Karous has no new modes whatsoever.
The only mode that is new to this release is Sound Test. This mode allows you to listen to any track you want from any of the 3 games. The Rajirugi Remix Soundtrack doesn't seem to be included.
It doesn't make any sence why Milestone couldn't of added all of these modes & Internet Ranking to this collection when they were already in some of the previous releases. I feel cheated.
I have almost no motivation to play this release. I'd rather stick to the GC version for the extra modes & remix music. They should of called this 'Milestone Bare-Bones Collection'. Waste of money if you ask me.

Maxmultiplier, is the Dreamcast slowdown from all the games at least gone, and high score saving in all of them?
I've never played Radirgy and Karous, and I'd buy this for them, though manpuku mode would have been nice.

Of course, that's just an opinion.

But they're still very different takes on the mainstream console. However I think we're putting the same point across. I'm just saying there's a slightly different take on take on the same target demographic.df0notfound wrote:that is exactly what most people used the ps2 for, shitty spiro games, who wants to be a millionaire and that crappy sims port. its just the teenage boys also used it for GTAspadgy wrote:ndo's marketing skill and the Wii's success as a manistream/casual machine. It's selling to whole new groups of people who would never have normally bought a console, who'll likely be playing crappy family quiz games and throwaway minigame compilations. So don't let the hype and sales let you think it's the new PS2. Sure it's the new mainstream machine, but it's not necerserily the for the same audience/consumer as the PS2.
Spiro ain't Wii-Fit.
I guess they're comparable in that there's lots of faff and a few incredible gems, but that arguement can be applied to most consoles.
That said, both machines have some shmups of note... Though the Wii's are of course mostly VC based...
Sod it. All I'm really saying is mass market gaming has evolved, which is pathetically obvious of me!

O3 had been talking about this combo since about March 2007, though with the problems they had releasing Radio Allergy I'm not sure how quickly we will see a North American release. Its quite plausible, but as of yet nothing has shown itself on the O3 press asset site and I'm not sure if there is still a shortage of Wii dev hardware for the little guys. Cross your fingers, hope for the best. Should be worth checking out if they indeed go ahead with bargain pricing, but as people have pointed out its nothing to get overly excited about.

No relation
I am just a member of the media. When O3 was planning to release Radio Allergy I also became an avid poster on their official forums purely as a fan/volunteer. In some ways I also acted like an information liason, but I've never had an official affiliation with the company.
That being said, if anything of interest pops up I'll let you know

The Crying Randar was in honor to Compile when it closed its doors. But I had to learn to live without her, and I must try to leave the crying days in the past. But sometimes it's so hard... oooh, it's so hard.....

it's sad to hear milestone dropped the ball very hard on this compilation. especially since there are perfectly fine gamecube ports of radilgy and chaos field. in fact the ngc ports are actually better than the original dc releases with less slowdown and the extra modes, not to mention such "trivial things" as saving highscores and such.
*sigh*
it may very well an oversimplification on my part but you would think that running the gamecube ports on the wii would not require too much work, right?
what a disappointment! still it's good that karous can now be played by more people. and i do think the boxart looks nice.

I loved the movies as a kid. They were cheesy as hell, but great fun to watch. Old Shatterhand was my hero. I was always disappointed if I saw a Karl May movie without that character.Shatterhand wrote:Are you a Karl May fan too , or you just watched the movies?Herr Schatten wrote:Yes, but the Lex Barker one ruled! I also read a couple of the books, but I never really enjoyed them much.

Nobody's said, in relation to them being Dreamcast ports, whether or not the slowdown is gone in these games.
Also, I'd love to know if this works with the new software "freeloader" that you can put on your Wii, via the Twilight Princess hack.

at least it did work for me. (I have an NTSC-US Wii with a modchip but I disabled it to test the game)
loading seemed to be quite long though (general reason I miss playing games on GC) I don't have the classic controller, but it seemed that you HAD to play with a GC controller.
the game is normally asking for an update but I was able to bypass it with Nuke's app ^^
as for the slowdown issue I haven't played any milestones other than the ports on DC so I don't know. (and my DC is kinda fucked up so I can't test it out any more (that's for putting my consoles in an humid basement :\ ))

The slowdown in the DC versions was more deliberate than a lack of hardware power. It's the PS2 versions of Chaos Field and especially Radilgy, which were crippled with bad slowdown.
It is hard to believe that seemingly little or no effort was put into this pack at all. Very disappointing.

hori's fighting stick wii is pretty good especially for games like this.ex.machina wrote:Yeah Shikigami 3 supports various control methods, including Cube and Classic Pad support. However I prefer the 360 version, which has slightly better graphics and imo the 360 is still better than any of the Wii controls.

Odd that UFO Interactive picked this up considering that O3 were the ones initially handling MileStone localizations.gabe wrote:This is slated for a Sept 23 release with a $30 price tag here in the US...

Edit: LOL, they linked to one of my old replays for Karous.
I should probably record a newer one, now that I think about it.
