While taking a break from Mushi I decided it was high time to fire up my 3 month old copy of DOJ and see how well I could do:

ch'timi - 187,817,660 - A-E - 1-5 - 1712 Hit
only got 1 hyper from the 1st boss, and fucked up the easy beginning of stage 5 combo, but good comboing on the 1st 3 stages and ok stage 4. got to the last boss again but again with the last life.
getting close to 200m!

I haven't played this game in months but I just now played it and got my highest score ever! Been playing a lot of Mushi & DDP (just got DDP for PS1) so maybe that primed me in some way.

Got this today. Very very fun. I died right before the last boss. Definitely can't get there consistantly yet, but I'll work on it. Lost the exact score b/c I went into death label without saving.

EDIT: Don't put this on the score-board cuz I don't have the chain number or all of the score numbers. I'll post again when I get another one.

yah i was a big fan of the original DDP, so this game feels really familiar. It feels like I didn't really even have to get used to a whole new game. Like, lots of people think mushi maniac is easier than DOJ, but I've had lots more trouble with mushi b/c it feels so much different.

This game is awesome.

Salem, please post the exact score you have, and include the other details used in my format, and I'll update. I just don't want to clutter up the board with a bunch of xxxx's. Nice score by the way for just starting out.

. I edited the post I had before to say that I didn't expect it to be put up there since I didn't have an exact score or the chain #. I'll post it once I get a better one. Plus, now I know that the big red warning before you go into death label is probably saying "Unsaved stuff will be lost"

Woah quick question. Why does everyone use A-Expert??? That and B-exp give you way less bombs then all the other kinds. B-Shotia is the DOJ equivalent of C-S from the original dodonpachi (the most frequently used one for that game), and it seems to be the least-used one here. Am I missing something?

ok just wondering since your hs board was empty except for the top spot. out of curiosity, how much did you have after the 1st loop?

also i posted a DOJ thread in the strategy forum, you're welcome to point out errors or add stuff, i'm sure you must know a trick or two with 450m.

My true best score is 700 million. However, there is no proof.
I spent about six months for reaching the 2nd loop. My best record is 2-5. About two year has passed since the 2nd loop was reached.
b-exy is the easiest for reaching the 2nd loop.

Started playing again, this time with default settings.

I decided to try to focus on surviving, and worry less about chaining. It worked wonders, I guess.

Starting to get round to playing this properly after months of putting it off due to it's insane difficulty. Still yet to get to the 4th stage (difficulty really jumps after that stage 3 mid boss), so hopefully will improve.

Also, is it worth switching to A-E? Can't help noticing every score in the top 10 is done with that ship.

Ahh balls. Died on the last boss (of the 1st loop). Score was somewhere in the 39millions. Hopefully I'll get it soon.

Well I've only had this game for 5 days now but I must say I am thoroughly enjoying it (read: getting my ass handed to me).

I'm just now starting to get some of the chaining down but man is it a great feeling the very first time you completely chain a section you've been practicing on.
