I'm having lots of trouble with the final bosses in DG. I can get there with 3 lives stocked, but always lose them all before I can kill the boss. I'm currently taking a break from this game until I can find the F3 cartridges (Normal and Extra version).

Since I don't have my Famicom yet, Recca and Gradius II through emulation.
You'll fly through Gradius II. I beat it with one life yesterday afternoon, and I hadn't touched it in quite a while. :P

That's not a complaint, though. It's an absolutely wonderful game.

Right now I'm practicing on Psyvariar II (DC version). I can 1CC it consistently, but that's obviously not really the point of the game. I've been playing as the girl and getting some decent scores, but I think it's time to switch over to the guy and do some 'milking' on those bosses, hehe.

I really want to 1CC Dai Ou Jou. I felt like I had to get mars matrix and r-type leo out of the way first b/c they're both so awesome and they kept distracting me, but I think I'm ready to concentrate on DOJ. I've gotten to the last boss on 1 credit but it'll probably be awhile before I can beat it.

Oh, I SLCed the first loop after 3.5 hours of playing it. It's not very difficult, but very fun. I wanted to do a replay just because I've really enjoyed it.. and I figured I'd add commentary to stir things up. Hopefully I can use this as another chance to fix the audio balancing issues I had when I put together the Neo Geo Shooting Special.

Recca is a toss-up.. sometimes I do really well, and other times I just start dieing right out the gates. The one problem I have is that there is one boss (the true stage 3 boss) where you absolutely NEED to have your side-pods... without them, you're as good as dead. Otherwise, I'm slowly making it through the stage 4 boss rush.

i trying to convince myself to put down everything except for a couple games:

i'm thinking DDP, Batsugun, and Cyvern. also i'm considering picking up shiki 2 again. i could almost clear it last year when it was all i played, but other games began calling. doesn't sound too bad playing 4 games with some dedication, instead of the 15+ i play sporadically now.

edit: and some gradius and parodius for comfort food... damn so much for a "couple games." :?
I have no sig whatsoever.

Shattered Soldier has to be one of the most fun games I've ever experienced going for 100% completion in.

Contra 3, man flame thrower and crush gun and that's all you need. :D I can one-life Contra 3 on normal with a little luck (hard mode? HAHAHA). Area 4 always makes or breaks it.

Right now I'm working on the NES cartridge Ninja Gaiden 2 and the arcade version of Super Contra (on MAME, alas).

Sorry, meant to say G Darius. I'm able to 1C up to the final boss in G Darius. I think it's going to take another 30 years of practice before I could ever accomplish that on Darius Gaiden! Sorry for the confusion.

I've been working on Shiki EX this last week. I can almost clear it, but keep stumbling somewhere. I think I have a decent 5-2 strategy worked out, but I still need consistency on previous levels, namely 3-1 and 5-1.

On reflection, Shiki 1 is a damn sight harder than 2. ...though maybe that's because there's no Kim2...

Been working on the PC version of Raiden II, either I have the game set too slow or I did real well as I cleared the game in 2 credits.

I think I had it set too slow, I'll have to pick up the speed as the bullets just seemed to easy to get past.

NES Shooting Special? That's what I'm talkin' 'bout, Willis.

Mayhap the NES Salamander will finally be recognised by shooter fans worldwide as the superior version.

Currently working on Dangun Feveron.

This game is pretty insane, but fun enough to be worth the work

My gaming time's gone back to Diablo 2 and Betrayal at Krondor this past month or so, not a lot of shmupping. I play Radio Zonde from time to time, and one day I will win. I hope. I still learn things whenever I play, I guess I'm "training" on it. The game still blows my mind.

I had a real nice go at Parsec47 the other day, got 10M+ roll/extreme, so I guess I haven't lost it. I'm always looking for a better high score there. Also, I want to clear stage 50 on Practice without shooting.

Right now I'm training on Radiant Silvergun, and trying to 1CC ESP Ra.De.

RS on the Saturn is like a checklist for me:

1. Master chaining
2. Don't blink
