I loved FFX-2, but then I love Yuna (not healthy), so what do I know?

And it has a happy ending! What more could you want?

Ugh, you're missing something.
Ganelon wrote:You also said FFX-2 was unenjoyable when both games can be played the exact same way though...
That's not how I played DQ3 (I found that I couldn't if I wanted to)

I disagree.

Having to worry about MP: that's in practically every RPG
character turn placment and how to balance out your defending with your attacking: not valid in DQ
Also, engaing the enemies in a tactical manner (knowing which enemies are bet to attack on a certain turn) plays a big role: not valid in DQ unless you're talking about killing off low HP monsters first, which is in every RPG
Some RPG's have proved to be challenging to me even after I've maxed out levels because of things like this: not valid in DQ
I disagree. Seeing a pattern here?

Anyway, Dq3 was one of the first RPGs ever made so, yes, I'm only rating it on those little qualities.

I just don't see how the atmosphere would make the game more fun.

i have only played this on GBC, but i put more hours into this than any other rpg in my life. loved it hardcore!
While I loved the GBC version, I prefer the NES version due to the fact that it is even harder. Still though, the GBC version was godly.

That's not how I played DQ3 (I found that I couldn't if I wanted to)

I disagree.
OK, if you didn't play it that way, then why don't you tell me how you played it rather than skirting the question? I can tell you I've played it just attacking (hell, that's the way I played all the NES DQs) and it works. You just raise attack power, have your characters attack, and heal when necessary (you can also have the hero use magic instead but that's not necessary at all). That's it and that's exactly how you can and must do to beat the game. So what exactly are you disagreeing with? What did you do that was so different?
I disagree. Seeing a pattern here?
Yeah, disagreeing without telling me what exactly you're disagreeing with. How about you state exactly what you disagree with and then provide some backing, man?
Anyway, Dq3 was one of the first RPGs ever made so, yes, I'm only rating it on those little qualities.
OK, fair enough. So is there any early RPG that you DON'T enjoy? According to your standards, there doesn't seem to be any. And I'm guessing you prefer SRPGs.

What the hell would it matter if I explained it to you?

If you want an idea of what I did differently, READ MY DESCRIPTION OF WHAT I THINK A GOOD RPG IS.

Well, you haven't responded to any of my points and keep pointing to your description that I already noted fit any RPG and "disagreeing" with my points by just saying "I disagree."

If you have nothing to back up your claims, please just stop arguing with me. If you really like every RPG (by your minimal gameplay standards) but still feel gameplay is still most important, then just say so.

WHAT WOULD IT MATTER? We could argue for pages. No matter how long we did, I would still like Dq3 and you would still dislike it. Because of that there's no point in explaining my opinion.

Ok, fine, listen:

Yes, alot of RPG's fit the description in Dq3. That doesn't mean they all pull it off right. (FFx2. Sort of)

And WHEN DID I SAY those were my minuminal gameplay standards? Infact, I belive I JUST SAID that I was comparing DqIII to the standards of it's time. Either way, seeing as I obviously consider Dq3 high standard anyway, those no need to even question that.

I gave a description for why I liked Dq3. You picked it apart. I said I disagree.

I disagree= (obviously) the opposite of what you said. No more really needs to be said. It would be pointless to do so.
