Man, I like the soundtrack of the LE but the cover of the SE. :?

I'm pretty sure that I'm going to get the game too, though. (I can't say "no" to screen shot five; Look at that sky!) Hopefully we can actually buy it.

I think this is going to be good. Thanks, P_HAT! :)

Ha ha, I saw that too, Lawfer. "Enemy in Site! View the Web sight for more information."

Now us baka gaijin just need a place to order the game as well. Hopefully Himeya or Paletweb or somebody will be stocking it. Both versions.

The backgrounds look extremely boring... bland, no interaction, no obstacles.

The Last Hope experience has taught me one thing: Do NEVER (pre)order a doujin shooter without having tested it first. And this one looks way more "doujin" than Last Hope.

Errand services? that's what I use for games like that. Himeyashop is too expensive IMO theyre selling Ys Oath of Felghana for 109$

Use either this:

Errand services:

http://www.mailorderjapan.com/japan-shopping.html

http://akihabarashop.com/

http://www.m-world-service.com/

http://www.crescent-shop.com/

Or this:

Shops that deals in Doujin and that ships worldwide:

http://www.paletweb.com/

http://www.himeyashop.com

Limited edition features: Alternative package illustration and main part DISC for limited edition benefit picture recording CD, (total 20 tune recording of the arrangement 4 tune by the BGM16 tune + special guest inside the game by 9900 Taro and Shanxi interest Osamu)

Last Hope limited edition (if it is ever released) might go for quite a bunch on ebay in a couple years.

I'd like to know if it's worth the extra 20 or not. I might actually buy this if I get some money. It won't help me if I can't understand what exactly it's trying to advertise thank you.

Not really worth the extra 20 bucks basically what you get is:

*A different package design then the regular edition

*A CD with 20 tracks (4 tracks by BGM16 + special guests)

an extra OST for me to listen to sounds like a good enough reason to me. I really enjoy soundtracks to games, and it's more than likely some pretty badass stuff too.

i argee, it VERY strange - no gameplay movie, no demo version.

Imo, these bastards want to earn money for the famous name, I will be very happy if the game is good, but so far it looks like a piece of shit. I dont need second "Last Hope"... and i dont need "Broken Hope" :(

Wait a sec, so what part of this game is tied to the original TF series? Yeah, Factory Noise seemingly owns the rights to / created the TFV soundtrack and the planned TFVI soundtrack. Is there any other relation? Are there any old Tecno Soft employees?

Yes like I said I am getting the special edition too as I usually do, but also not really worth the extra 20 dollars. (The regular edition costs 2,800Yens and the limited edition with the cd cost an additional 2,450Yens)

No just Broken Thunder ;) maybe this piece of shit will really be THE LAST HOPE!

I dunno does the names:

Producer: Nagasaki Completexity ring a bell?

Mech Design: Garow (I knew I know that name it's the guy who works on Thunder Future) We get the past. Therefore, it evolution stop...

Director: Officer Ratan

If a dev/publisher wants the public to see just how nice their game looks, then they'll give away some amazing screens.
I'm going out on a limb here and guessing this is some of the best they have to offer.
I'm being fair here, if this were another game and not some shmup I'd say the same thing. Doujin or not, the level creativity is downright ghastly.
That's right, I actually typed the word ghastly. And I'm not British.

Indeed. Are those screens the best they have to offer? Makes me shudder. I am not preordering this. I'll wait until some guinea pigs... erm, fellow shmuppers report back or until I get to play it myself.

In an earlier post I wrote:
What the fuck could anyone possibly be bitching about? This is a very early picture if I'm not mistaken. Not really bad at all. The surface looks realistic. The space backdrop looks sexy. The haze in the background helps. The ship looks around the right size. What? YOU KNOW the game is going to freestyle haul ass at the beginning ala 4 and 5! So, be patient!
Yeah, there are little to no enemies on the screen and very little firepower demo, but hell you wanted SOMETHING to prove it was a real game and there you go!
To heck with all the naysayers! I'm dancing!
Ok, now I'm riding on the edge of retraction. Sorry about all that. Jeez, I hate to think someone hijacked the TF name and artwork and made themselves a crap taco, but this is kind of what it's looking like. Hey, here's an optimistic theory: perhaps they released a whole slew of early pictures of levels just to throw everyone off - and then, like a week before the release, they show us the REAL "oh, my God!!!" shots and then everybody goes scrambling for their credit cards.
:)

That was good, practically under the rader.

I agree that everything seems to have an LE these days; I thought that it used to be that people ordering early simply received the bonuses, but it's apparent that there is an outlet for alternate cover art and game soundtracks. (Sometimes I wonder if the artists simply couldn't decide on a cover, though.)

Kudos to Lawfer for impressing patience and presenting the details of the SE and LE in a very accessible format, and thanks for the quick list of errand service providers and online resellers! In that spirit:
System Requirements
Media: DVD-ROM
OS: Windows 2000/XP
CPU: Pentium 4 1.6 GHz or better
Memory: 256 MB [most should have at least 512 MB for modern OSes, pref. 1 GB~+ -ed.]
Screen: 640x480 or higher
VGA: AGP or PCI-Express video card with at least 32 MB video RAM
Sound: DirectSound-supported sound card required
DirectX: 9.0c or higher required
Misc: DirectInput-supported game controller recommended
I wonder if that means that the graphics card itself needs to support DX9 in hardware. In any case, my hopeful "Vista testing" PC will probably be the one to run this.
Ceph wrote:I'll wait until some guinea pigs... erm, fellow shmuppers report back or until I get to play it myself.
Roger that. 8)

Lots of people seem to be heading into this one with reservations, though. Whether it's because of the game itself or the "Last Hope Experience," chances are good that it won't make that big of a splash if it turns out lackluster. Worst-case scenario, it'll be a dud and that will be that. Unfortunate situation, but, we'll find out soon enough.

I sent an e-mail to both Paletweb and Himeya to ask if they'd be stocking the game. Paletweb said this:
Palet Mail Service wrote:It is sold only by Toranoana.
We cannot get this item.
Himeya said they would inform me after (Toranoana's) pre-orders have started on April 14th.

Damn. I'm ready to bite the bullet on this one and have it shipped from Japan if need be. It is a shame Toranoana's page is all in Japanese.

I just emailed Himeya about this one.

Toranoana doesn't ship internationally. Luckily, Himeya replied to me and they've now opened pre-orders of their own:

Regular Edition
Limited Edition

Yeah, I pre-ordered it. For the good of the community and all that.
