Actually, the ROM I got just doesn't work at all. I've tried two versions of MAME and netiher worked with it. Must be a bad dump or something.GaijinPunch wrote:Try a different MAME version. Blazing Star works in the latest versions of MAME, you just need the newest rom dump because graphic roms were redumped for a few Neo-Geo games a while back. If you're too lazy to find a new romset, then find a version of MAME pre-0.80 or so.howmuchkeefe wrote:Nuts, Blazing Star doesn't work in either version of MAME I have. Wish I had known that before I voted for it.
or you might need a new Neo-Geo bios file since that's been updated every now and then too.

Huh. I never saw anything that said people had been added to our team. I thought there was still just four of us.Turrican wrote:well, it's the exact opposite for me, teammateThe Coop wrote:Not good. Blazing Star I can find. Sexy Parodius, I can't.![]()
(btw, should I pm you for that cool banner?)
Anyway, here's your banner...

Welcome aboard. You can blame Edge's lack of informing for its delayed arrival. Or, if a I missed a post somewhere, then just blame it on a brain fart of mine
And don't worry. If BS wins, I can point you to where I found it.

Ah sorry, I should have written you a pm. I posted it in the Shooting Tournament 2006 thread, but this thread is really messy and big so things can easily stay unnoticed there. The Coop wrote:You can blame Edge's lack of informing for its delayed arrival. And the teams:
USA Eastcoast, USA Westcoast & Team Cowboy still have no banner.
I have decided for one of the many logos for team loser for now, if you'd like it to be changed please tell me.

I've got the opposite problem. My Blazing Star has completely corrupt graphics (everything is a square). Sexy Parodius on the other hand works fine. The Coop wrote:Not good. Blazing Star I can find. Sexy Parodius, I can't.

Van't get Sexy Parodius ROM to work
I have downloaded the latest ROM for sex parodius. I'm using mame32 .107 but I can't get it to work. The rom isn't available in the game list.
When I select sexy p from the "all games" list is gives a note that the video isn't emulated properly.
Is there a different version of mame I should be using to get this to work? I'm beginning to wish I hadn't voted for this now!
Cheers

I believe you need the bios for Sexy Paro to run. konamigx I believe it is, quite small at 8kb.Leeram wrote:I have downloaded the latest ROM for sex parodius. I'm using mame32 .107 but I can't get it to work. The rom isn't available in the game list.

Sexy Paro is teh awsum, probably the best of the series for me. I haven't put my vote in yet, as I'm waiting to see how close it gets as it draws closer to the start day for the first day. ^_-
I'd love to play SSF-Macross 2 in the smeet, but unless fifty people vote between now and Monday, thats highly unlikely. ;_;

I don't see what'sstopping other people from voting as well, it's an open vote that anyone can take part in. It's possible to get more than 90 I would say.
If you think about it though, getting 90 people together to take part in a friendly competition and group themselves into teams basically using chaos theory or something is amazing. The Net rules!

blazing star is a fine choice.
and for the record, every ship can milk the last boss, although why are we arguing about it when only 1-2 players on these boards can even *reach* the stage 7 boss on a credit?
if somebody actually has the skills to perform a counter stop with the peplos, they should be rewarded, and possibly deemed a demi-god.
(i used to have the SOF vhs super-play of this, and there is no aryustailm glitch. and surviving a certain amount of time without a death on stage 7 boss causes the babies to change colour and kamikaze into your ship.)

Agreed.SiKrAiKeN wrote:Next time, I think it should be a private vote by PM from each person, that way you only get the people playing voting instead of who knows who.Rob wrote:I like how there are more votes than people playing.

About other possible voting methods:
I agree, the PM method might be more accurate. But it would be pretty painful to sort out more than 90 PMs. And it would make things more complicated. These open poll's are quite a good decission with so many participants joining. More than 90% of the votes on top are probably of the participants (we don't know if all participants have really already voted). And I think this is a good average. Open polls on active boards will always get some random clicks just from people who like voting and offcourse participants can also ask someone else on the board to vote for their games. (Good thing that only registered users can vote.)
I still think the current result 100 votes of 91 participants is pretty good.
However I am thinking to make the next poll a 24h poll. I'll host it on Sunday morning and on Monday we'll start the next game. This way we can prevent that people already start practising games that are in the lead. And hopefully make tactical voting a bit more difficult.
The main problem is participants might wait to actually vote for a game, when on the meantime random people filled the poll-limit. Resulting in cutting off the poll when some actually playing members haven't voted yet.
That's at least how I think.
EDIT:
The teams USA Eascoast, USA Westcoast and Team Cowboy are still without a banner.
Someone could help out?

Well there are only two problems with this system. First I am not always online and I might cap the vote when we have got already more votes. (but this isn't really an issue, as it could still be used to prevent worse)DEL wrote:True, once the total number of votes = total number of players, then it should be capped right there.
