Been on a terrible tear lately.

I've got an older, but very nice display that doesn't support HDMI. Wife wanted to do some streaming with all the new fancy apps and such, plus I wanted a Blu-ray player that didn't take minutes to do each and every little thing.

So, had to get one of these:

Image

So that I could get one of these:

Image

... and stick one of these in the MHL port:

Image

Then for some reason, I also grabbed one of these cheap for my gaming rig:

Image

I may region-free mod the BDP-62FD, though I'll likely need to enlist some help for the soldering. It looks like pretty fine work.

Some new VGM on vinyl

Image

The full collection so far:

Image

I think I'm missing three Dragon Quest records. Other than that, I should probably pick up Return of Video Game Music and the R-Type vinyl... after that, I don't know. There was a vinyl edition of some of the recent SQ remix tracks that is neat, but expensive. I'm actually not sure I want to buy much more, I'm at the point where I expect I'll lose interest in vinyl eventually and won't have any way of getting rid of these for anywhere near what I paid for them. :\

Haha, you'd be amazed at how much I put away and how much I preach about it to friends and family to the point it annoys them.

Besides the boiler plate 401k, got an IRA, a "just for fun" stock portfolio (another hobby of mine), standard savings, a revolving ladder of CDs and my rental properties. Doing so has enabled me to pay cash on major purchases (ex: real estate, cars, etc). It's all about percentages allocated to different things... such as disposable income and what not, then sticking to it.

It's actually the lower display portion of a Macross Pachislot machine. It's fully pop-out, 3-dimensional and has a bunch of different LEDs imbedded all over. I'd love to get it to light up and use it as some sort of marquee.

Haha, thx. These days I usually get things in bursts. Tend to gravitate towards strange little things/unusual items that seem somewhat interesting.

You're a hoarder  Been at this level of Japan shopping in the late 90s, early 00s, but run out of space and decided just to keep (and buy from now on) what I (potentially) will play at some point in the future... (and I still buy more than I'll ever use or play). I know the excitement of buying stuff like this, but when you NEVER use 95% of the stuff you buy, after a few years it just gets old. Will be interesting to see where you're in three or four years from now.

But I have to admit: those Choh-/Makaimura board games are really really cool!

Or it could be a simplified Fuchikoma for that matter (a nod towards Ghost In The Shell).

Tomy was known for it's wild 'n' wacky mechanical powered "Space Pets" line-up that was powered up with an included minature air pump back in the early 1980s. Of course, the built-in air tank could only hold a certain amount of air to power up the exotic mechanisms before running out. Five different ones were produced in all during it's short-lived production cycle/release. And best of all, no batteries needed to power 'em up whatsoever.

Tomy's Air Jammer & Honda ATC air powered vehicles were slick as well. I'd imagine by adding an on-board battery-operated air compressor would make for some serious endurance runs, indeed.

Would have liked the CE for the doll statue and art book, but couldn't justify the $100 price tag. It was very cool of Bamco to offer the LE goodies for no extra charge -- a music CD, DLC voucher for some costumes, and a very nice little 40-page booklet with character illustrations.

Best part was that I traded in a bunch of faff from my collection and it ended up only being $34 8)

How do those projectors handle 240p? If upscaling is the answer, some scanlines would be welcome.

SO JEALOUS

Stupid question -- did you get an instruction book in the game box? Mine only came with the DLC card and no instruction book ... just want to make sure it wasn't supposed to.

- Custom cut Qanba RAF Q3 control panel faceplates (6, 4, 3 button layout), courtesy of the lovely FrancoB
- Original (new) 2L12B CPO for one of my NAC panels I'm planning on restoring
- my old 1942 board! w/ my old Jamma Adapter!
- Super Street Fighter II Turbo (USA - phoenixed), came with both A&B boards. Gotta get a label printed
- FrancoB's Jamma Voltmeter
- FrancoB's 4 player versus jamma loom
- 4164 RAM IC's for my Robotron cabaret (more stable, reduces the need for a 12v line, use only with power adapter or power-modded board)
- Arkanoid Spinner (uncommon looking one)
- FrancoB's NAC Marquee holder (not pictured 'cause I left it at work :( )
