Wow, interesting album. First part is 80's Jpop, second part is vaporwave.

Re: What are you currently listening to?
Just got the new Memoriam album and got back into old school industrial from the early 90s. I knew of but had not heard The Electric Hellfire Club - very well done in my book and sounds a lot like early Xorcist. Best lyrics "Always spell Satan with a dollar sign. If there's anything I want I just make it mine".

Satellite Young finally release their first album. If 80's Jpop tickles your fancy, you might want to give this a listen.
A shame about the the cover art, female lead looks derpy.

Re: What are you currently listening to?
I don't mind synthwave, in fact I have already purchased several CDs based on soprano's recommendations in this thread. But someone seriously needs to chime in with their music passion in here to break up the constant stream of updates coming in at a rate higher than new updates for Java. Alternately we could rename the thread to "what is soprano1 listening to this current minute".
Personally, I'm just back on a Bowie binge right now, so that's not particularly interesting.

Re: What are you currently listening to?
I forgot the original singer from Grim Reaper put out an album last year, checking it out now. I guess he didn't entirely own the band name but was still able to come to an agreement with the other original members since they weren't on the album.

Re: What are you currently listening to?
Steve Reich, Music for 18 Musicians
A surprisingly pleasant hour of alien rythms, not too distant from Reich's earlier, more experimental work but full of energy and sentiment.
There is the right amount of repetitiveness to make the piece more obsessively aggressive than most heavy metal, but never boring.

Re: What are you currently listening to?
Keith Jarrett, Hymns/Spheres
Another ECM experiment: Keith Jarrett makes love with a pipe organ.
Particularly good composing, even if according to the liner notes Jarrett was enthusiastic about the timbrical opportunities of an organ.

Re: What are you currently listening to?
big walnuts yonder debut album
it's everything I was hoping for. nick reinhart from tera melos, nels cline from wilcso, greg saunier from deerhoof, and mike watt from minutemen. AOTY contender for me so far.
https://soundcloud.com/sargent-house/bi ... uts-yonder
standout tracks for me are
3 - flare star phantom (it gets very mars volta-esque)
6 - ready to pop
7 - forgot to brush (probably my favorite track)
8 - rapid driver moon inhaler

Yoshinori Sunahara - Take Off And Landing
One of 2 of his I bought off discogs a little while back. One that sounds awesome on my stereo. Never really was much into Denki Groove, but his solo stuff is fantastic.

Prodigy - The Fat of the Land
Another great album that is now 20 years old, and makes me feel older.
