How many blondes is this game going to have?

Anyways, not sure if this is the right thread for this, but on Steam Skullgirls is currently on sale for $3, and also free to play until Jun 7th.

Oh my lord..

I always enjoyed VOOT on occasion and I knew I sucked at it.

However it was never apparent how much I didn't know about this game until watching that video. Jesus.

And speaking of Sega I can't be the only person who would get excited about an Eternal Champions reboot. Sure the game was broken as fuck, but the characters, setting, and story were great.

Whoa, I didn't realise there were that many 3D roboto fighters!

This is possibly the most hostile money match I've ever seen.. At this point it's not even about the game anymore eh?

Jesus, that was embarrassing on a few levels.

Favourite bit was the guy who lost assuring the winner he wouldn't beat him up post-match.

edit: oh right, loser's a DSP-lite scrub. from the atmosphere of the video I'd assumed he had some credibility.

Was reading up on the whole manufactured drama (money match on someone else's dime, LOL). Even though I appended with "lite," I too must apologise to DSP for comparing him to that guy. Image At least DSP can claim some tournament credibility.

Watched that entire Accent Core Evo 2014 on and off over the last couple days, some wickedly intense matches in there. Kenji/Zappa and Fiestament/Testament had some entertaining as hell runs, even if they didn't always win. Fuckin dog trap!

Aaaand it turns out that SF5 is literally the best looking 3D game I've ever seen.
The best looking fighting game, at the very least.

In Britain eh? Dudley or Eagle basically confirmed.

And it looks great, but I was hoping it would have looked more like an updated 3rd Strike.

Guilty Gear Xrd is much better looking.

Anyways, not certain how I feel about what we know about the game mechanically (http://shoryuken.com/2015/06/11/going-h ... -benefits/). Crouch tech OS being gone is nice, focus attacks being gone is nice, backdashes not having hit-invulnerability is nice, no FADC is really nice. I don't know that I like the apparent emphasis on 3S style one-hit confirms into super. Still having a link-based combo system is a major turn off, even if they'll supposedly be easier somehow. QCF lightning legs is nice, although I wish they'd have just done that as an alternate input, like with Jin's Sekkajin in later BlazBlue versions, for nostalgia's sake. Ryu having a parry ensures that if I play this, it will be the first SF game ever where I haven't picked him. From what I've read elsewhere, walkspeed is still geriatric (I've even seen people say it's slower than SF4!), which will kill my interest entirely if it's true. Alpha Counters are sort of a strange choice; without more "non-traditional SF" pressure tools, I don't see how there's going to be enough block pressure to justify their existence.

I really don't like the art direction of sfiv or v. Definitely agree with drauch and obscura here.

At this point they could release another sequel to the SF3 series with more characters, a rebalance, sprites and similar mechanics.
I think people would go nuts for it.

You've got to be fucking joking Cagar. How is this "the best looking fighting game". This may even be a contender for worst looking. I've seen SNES kusoge with better art than this.

Could there be Western Blasterz'ing in our future?

On a semi-related note, Arc System now owns the Double Dragon and Kunio-kun trademarks.

Cool. Certainly no guarantee anything will come of it, but they're hardly the worst custodians for those properties.

I'm more worried about that stupid power-up mechanic, they should call the game Projectile fighter V.

also removing backdash invul is a mistake, you don't take out defensive option to make the game more offensive, you BUFF the offensive options in order to do that
