Thanks for that, this fixes my problem too! I have a SF4 TE (originally 360 version) with ImpV2 and MC Cthulhu boards, and was getting completely messed up control mapping. If I tried to switch the IMPv2 to PS3 mode by plugging in while holding the vulcan death grip button combo I got no inputs at all and it was also not recognized by joy2key. Holding the 'back' button while plugging in the stick makes it all work perfectly, woohoo! :D

Can anyone help a steam-n00b to figure out how to see the online leaderboards?

I haven't played more than a few credits, yet, but what I have played was pretty fun. I have definately lost track of my ship with all the shit on screen though... not too many times, but still.

Figured that one out, now here's another: Is it possible for me to change the name that is displaying for my scores?
EDIT: figured it out. Hurray! I'm in the top 100 of Type II Boost mode arcade difficulty! :P

I do like Type II FWIW, but I imagine that it's somewhat impractical like most gradius options style ships in shmups. That's what I found in BWR+, anyway.

No, it's fuckin' dumb and the developer should be shot in the knees, this is fuckin' 2014.

fuck "2014" and fuck 16:9, it only makes sense because of movies, and it's completely random that it has only recently caught on instead of the decades and decades and decades that it could have. people who have 4:3 lcds are decent human beings.

Think long and hard about why you think 16:9 should be the norm. Here's a hint on the recent surge in ubiquity: it's a marketing ploy.

Yeah agreed.

So does anyone know a way to fix the black border problem for this game?

I can't even begin to imagine why I should give a crap about aspect ratios and stuff like that.
I'm getting the whole letterboxing thing too. Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

It's gonna be pretty fun when people start realizing World Ignition it's just another methodical hardcore memorizer, just like every shmup ever.

I got some wierd sound issues. I get a lot of hiss through the game. Will muck around with my sound card but anyone else notice anything?

EDIT: Sorted it. It's to do with my Xonar soundcard and turning the GX feature off.

some people here might realize this and get disappointed, but most never will and are expected to like crimzon clover anyway. aside from that, i think most people in general will just complain about the novice modes being difficult to credit feed through or whatever.

as usual, the only people worth caring about, the only people who end up being interesting, are the people who don't simply embrace what this genre means, but bask in it. the problem is that most people think this means being some world record-level player or some kind of emotionless robot, and a lot of those people are pretty sure those two things are the same anyway.

I don't think you understood the issue. The game screen gets squashed from the top and bottom, instead of getting black bars on the left and right to preserve the aspect ratio, so I get this wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide game screen.

You're so full of shit I can't even begin to come up with a proper counter argument, so I'll just leave it at "go back to trying to pass off your V-V score as legit".

Cool non-argument. Come back when you can actually formulate and express a thought without resorting to insults.

you are the average farm jerk. are you even trying to make sense? the push for 16:9 is a bunch of random marketing, deal with it.

do you know that what's going on with ccwi is the exact same thing that happened to raystorm? do you know that people are going to see it as something completely different from raystorm simply because? do you know that it's likely these guys are going to care more than taito does, and that it'd be a good idea to send them a polite message about it?

There is one floating around for the original release if you want a general idea of what to expect, but I don't think there's one for the "World Ignition" version.

You broke the forum D:

Also he's right. If you think about it a little bit, it'll become obvious how so (hint: it's based on how monitors are "sized").

So I noticed there are people on the leaderboards who have pretty high scores despite not getting very far in the game (on Arcade Boost, for example, there's a guy with a 1cc below another guy who crapped out on stage three). This brought be to the realization that I have absolutely no fucking clue what I'm doing in this game. It's funny, cause the constant barrage of stars is such an overwhelming form of positive feedback, I'd actually been fooled into thinking I was pretty good, despite having no real understanding of the scoring mechanics.

No, I still think I'm not getting it lol.
My game screen gets squashed from the top and bottom too. It's much more wide than tall, but not terribly distorted or anything. Maybe we are getting different issues.
