Ken Adam, production designer dead at 95. He designed most of the early bonds, worked with Kubrick on Dr. Stranglove, Barry Lyndon. Amazing career. Still, 95 is a pretty good age.

Sad, sad day. I'm not the world's biggest fan of his music or his approach to playing, but his talent and influence were unmistakable, and "Tarkus" is a rare gem that I'll definitely be revisiting tonight.

Crap, I've been watching Father Ted, and when I checked about the old dude playing the awesome Father Jack, I've learned he died of a heart attack just a couple weeks ago, 28th of February, which happens to be Dermot Morgan's birthday.

RIP Frank Kelly then.

Former Toronto Mayor and Train Wreck Extraordinaire Rob Ford is taking hits off of that big crack pipe in the sky.

I told you young people, that crack is some bad shit!

Odd coincidence, just the other day I saw in the papers that his arguable British doppelganger "The Crystal Methodist" Paul Flowers is still hittin' those minerals like a champ. He's more into the escort boy booty though.

edited, I always misspell "doppelganger"

Cancer is no joke, and it sucks. My old man died from it. But, I can't imagine that doing crack/coke/whatever when you're clearly not even remotely healthy does anything to help it.

Didn't know he was only 46, either. Crystal Methodist could've easily been his dad. Maybe he was. >__>

I loved that guy. Who else says in a press conference, "I never said I want to eat that woman's pussy!" ? Nobody, that's who. Take that Marion Barry!

This one? https://youtu.be/H4siKr6qY8w?t=15 Still makes me laugh.

Ford was hilarious. I was hoping he'd pull through. Even though a few days ago optics turned grim when reports of him being in palliative care with family constantly by his side started appearing, this still took me by surprise.

That was the "I'm a married man, I've got plenty to eat at home" line, right? Guy was a legend.

On that topic I've read something about the baby-boomer's beginning of the end decade is about to begin.
That's natural but yeah we should be prepared for years straight of seeing ever-more people who've made the headlines during our youth disappear (assuming most members aound have b-boomer parents that is).

Give it a deviation or so but from your mid 30s you generally become aware of mortality.
It is knocking though when fixtures come to an end. For me it would be losing Arnold Schwarzenegger as his films mark an era for me growing up in the late 80s and early 90s.

You just have to make as best you can of the time that you have really :)

Yeah, this is how it's gonna be unfortunately.

I judge these things by how I'd feel if it was someone close to me. 80+ is a good run I think. 70s a bit rough but to be expected. 60s and under just fucking blows.

I'm mentally preparing myself for Shatner's departure. That's gonna be rough.

I expect Trudeau to declare a national day of mourning but hopefully he'll be long gone by then
