Amazon.de has now changed their release date to May 18th for RFA (was previously April 24th *I think*). Checking DTP's german version site their date for the game has also moved to May 18th.

Let's all join together in a chorus of "hear we go again" with regards to shifting RFA release dates.
To go "full-Plank" - colloquial - To experience disproportionate levels of frustration as a result of resistance to completing a task. Those who go "full-Plank" very rarely recover.

True, but with my luck with shipping from the EU I'll probably have to wait 8 weeks and then pay more than I should thanks to import duty etc.
Importing from the EU rarely if ever takes 8 weeks unless your mail gets lost, try 1-2 weeks, 3 if you're unlucky. Australia has no import duty unless you spend over $1000. How much do you expect to pay for this?

Considering Australia's high dollar, a fair bit - probably around $65 AUS give or take. Last time I got anything from EU I waited 8 weeks which is why I'm quite paranoid about having to wait that long again.

And yes, Tradewest MK-II/DTP Entertainment have disappointed again.

It's even funnier considering that the compilation was originally supposed to come out on the original XBox.

That would be one hell of a sexy superplay, watching him shaking his hips in an STG. He would be an awesome psyvariar player too, twisting around like old times!

We believe!

The only problem is that he'd shoot out the TV after a bad run.

Going by Wikipedia it not only had an original Xbox release planned (RF1/2) but Raiden Fighters had a port attempt for the Sega Saturn as well.

I hope everyone's aware that yesterday (4/27/2012) DTP Germany filed for insolvency.

I see very little hope that a provisional insolvency administrator will allow a title like RFA still to be published

?? Oh no !!! :mrgreen: is there something official about it somewhere ? (I just find that in http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dtp_entertainment where it is mentionned "Am 27. 04. 2012 wurde vom Amtsgericht Hamburg (AktZ 67b IN 130/12) die vorläufige Insolvenz eröffnet" and http://www.modulopfer.de/2012/04/dtp-me ... olvenz-an/)

After JoWooD...I think there is maybe a malediction around RFA ! :?

If this is true it's fucking unreal; and I'm also clairvoyant.
DrTrouserPlank wrote:Hopefully DTP gets this game out the door ASAP before they fall victim to the curse of Raiden Fighters and go bust.
This game definitely is cursed.

Isnt it logistically easier just to release it along with Raiden 4 on XBLA??

Bah!!! (lots of swearing) :evil:

With so many failed attempts I wonder who actually owns the rights to publish in europe. Maybe someone who knows Japanese plus the email address could ask Guilti if its possible for them or RSG (since XBLA / GOD titles still need a publisher) to publish on Games on Demand. If Deathsmiles 1 can make it to GoD maybe RFA could.

If DTP were looking into publishing in Germany, then maybe Tradewest's license isnt that compehensive and there might be more ways around it, like a digi DL release. Ofc i'm making the assumption that DTP didnt outright buy the license from Tradewest / Gulti and the fact they were publishing in Germany wasnt to skirt around Tradewest's original agreement.

I don't fucking believe this shit. I give up. Save my money up and buy Jap box/games. PAL European publishers are the worse. DTP = TradeWest. You guys keep saying RSG lost money on all the Cave games so why are they going to publish anymore STG's?.

RSG have only published Deathsmilles and Dodonpachi Resurrection. RSG said DS PAL sold quite well, DFK from outside observation didnt seem to do that well,but much of the blame could be put down to its release been delayed till oct/nov when everyone was playing Skyrim or DarkSouls. I suppose the litmus test will be Akai Katana.

I know bugger all about the inner workings with GoD but i'ld hope that if CAVE can make a fast buck with DSII, so could RFA in PAL land

If anyone is thinking about importing, go for the US-version. Aside from being translated into English, the disc includes several bugfixes:
* Improved player control.
* Sound glitches fixed.
* In Raiden Fighters' boss rush mode, a bug during the stage 3 boss was fixed.
* In Raiden Fighters Jet, the Ixion's slave could not be used in training mode.
* Saving the gamer tags in leader board replays and scores.
A title update was released for the Japanese version to fix the above, but in my opinion it's much preferrable to have everything directly on the disc.

The US version is region-locked.

And the Japanese version isn't?

Not that it matters, now that ALL 360 models can be Reset Glitch Hacked.
