Dont rush the man Im hoping that he'll take his sweet time to make it as perfect as possible and that he manges to iron out that x000000c bug thats stopping me from using v1.5
From what I gather mame.99 is a bitch to code, making v3.0 quite a major undertaking

You're using win 7, right? Have you ever tried running the 1.5 mame.exe in xp compatibility-mode? For me, it solved my x0000000c bug.
Im running Win7 Home prem 64bit and no compatbilty mode doesnt seem to help. Rebooting fixed it everytime in the past but now I could reboot 20 times and the App wont run. Im not totally sure if this has any effect or is just coincidence but I seem to have more luck if i unpack a freash version of v1.5 and try running it, if it opens up I can run a 2nd instance of it that been the copy with all my roms and saves in it.
Anyway Ive gone to using standard wolfmame99 for my normal shmups as thankfully v1.5s save states will work in that version.
I'm gonna ask the same question that was posted a few pages back, there is no way to set an extra autofire button?
Say I'm playing blazing star but I don't want to have my buttons die in a month, yet, I still want to use the charge shot. With shmupmame, I can't, correct? I guess I'll use another emulator for the games that require to hold the fire shot.

Some versions of shmupmame have been based on builds (like MAME Plus) that allow this via custom buttons, but the most recent one isn't. You could get around it with something like Xpadder or Pinnicle, but I don't know if those applications would add any lag. It probably wouldn't matter much for just a rapid-fire button, though.

MAMEp Lagless 99 has a custom buttons feature. I expect 3.0 will, too, seeing as it's also based off of WolfMAME .99.
In the player controls section, set which joystick/keyboard/whatever buttons you'd like to be custom buttons.
Then, in the main tab-menu custom buttons section, press the numbers (literally 1, 2, 3 etc) on the keyboard to choose which buttons those custom buttons will press. It's a really weird setup, and I realized how to do it by accident at some point, lol.
Wow indeed. How the hell do you manage to lose a credit in stage 1?
Batsugun has been playable with sound in ThunderMAME for ages now, as well as Dogyuun and those other Toaplan games.
Not with emulated sound, just with hacked in samples from the OSTs etc. It's not accurate, and it doesn't sound correct. The ThunderMAME video implementation is also a hack, MAME has had it right for a while now without hacks instead.
This is the first time the Batsugun sound has been emulated.
I'm having a completely different issue. This is the same issue I've been getting in Mame32 0.99. When I start a game, I see the game window flash for a brief instant, and then the game select screen appears again. I do have the .exe set to Windows XP compatibility mode. Running Vista 64-bit.

Holy shit, Batrider is so much more responsive now. Excellent work... this project has been one of the most beneficial things in the Shmuppin' World ever.
