dannnnn - 191,646,945 - ALL - Follett - 360

Can anyone tell me why my replays aren't saving in 360 mode? I'm sure it's something obvious, but I always either return to title or go to previous menu when I want to restart so it can't be that. After the game over screen I just get a box with Japanese text. I don't have this problem in arcade mode.

If you don't even get to enter a name, your game is not on default mode. Yes, Full Voice enabled is considered "not default". Do note that all modes are independent on each other, so a setting, such as bomb count, that has been changed on the 360 mode will not apply to the arcade mode unless you manually change it. To solve this problem, enter each mode, go to options and default everything (except screen adjustments).

However, if you do play on the default settings, press the Green Button once to agree to save a replay.

Ahhh, it lets me enter my name, but I do have Full Voice enabled so that must be why replays aren't saving. Cheers!

Extremely amazing scores there for non-Ex, Dan. Was it Death Level 2 or just normal mode? Either way, awesome job!

Cheers :)

It was just normal mode, I haven't practiced the castle with suicide bullets yet. Gonna try that next though, so hopefully bump my score up a bit.

I guess my score can go up, even though it's only a small improvement. See CRI's pic above.

Updated! (also, I should point out, I updated after CRI posted his score, but forgot to post that I'd done the update. So don't worry, I hadn't abandoned the board for ages!)

Frenetic - well done on the 1CC; good to have you here.

Dan76 - good work on that improvement! It may have been 'small', but it saw you climb a good few places!

CHI - I hate you, but well done anyway (and cheers for pointing out my blunder!).

Keep 'em coming!

guldberget - 100,803,038, All (no EX) - Rosa - PCB

Set today on the PCB at Super Motaro Arcade/Café in Stockholm, Sweden just after a 1CC on Mushi Futari BL and like that one this was also kind of a 1-sissy run. This score gave me the 3rd place on the Super Motaro Deathsmiles Scoreboard (my coreboard nickname is MAG) but still waaaaaay behind on the scoreboard here. Now it´s time to give up on playing as Rosa and learn someone else, Follet perhaps.

Good work Kai. And a MAME score too. I didn't even realise that SH3/CV1000 games like Deathsmiles were playable. I thought the MAME guys removed CV1000 support from MAME after a letter from Cave. And I thought Nimitz had declined to support it. I guess you used an older version of MAME?

And Kai - your score - I put it down for the vanilla Deathsmiles. That's right, right?

He most probably did. Deathsmiles is quite playable in the Slowpoke builds of MAME providing your renderer of choice/computer setup doesn't result in glitchiness with the graphics, and even in the one official build of MAME that had it a high-tier computer would be able to run it with little to no issues. Whether you consider scores obtained on them legitimate considering the control/lack of slowdown is another story.

Since only the vanilla Deathsmiles was made available in MAME you'd be right in putting the score down for that category too. :)

A little trivia: if you do get hold of the 'slowpoke' build of MAME that changes the blitter fillrate, I find that setting it to 63% results in gameplay that appears parallel to the Xbox 360 port.

This is my concern. For now, it's in, but I'd be happy for input on this issue; especially if we start to get a lot of MAME entries.

Perhaps have a separate scoreboard for MAME scores? I doubt you'll get as many entries to manage for it compared to the PCB so in terms of category management it wouldn't be a problem, plus PCB elitists can't complain about being compared with the 'inferior emulated' version.

guldberget/MAG - 101,709,368 - All - No EX - Rosa

Set yesterday at Super Motaro Arcade Café in Stockholm. It didn´t move me out of third place on their own scoreboard though so I didn´t bother updating it on the chalk board. Unfourtunatly a major **** up by me on the volcano stage while powered up caused the end score to be lower (probably) than the run deserved.

I agree with BPzeBanshee too. I'll knock up a separate board right now.

Updaterising!

Oh, and guldberget - I never knew their was such a place in Stockholm. If work takes me to Sweden, I'll try and stop by!

One other question about the MAME scores - should we be particularly fussy about the setting for the blitter fillrate, or MAME version, or should we just not give a stuff?

I might submit a score sometime but I'll be using the slowpoke builds at 63% otherwise the computer really does not play it right.

Good point. Right now the MAME part of this board is so small I don't think we want to chop things up anymore, but I'll keep an eye on it.

Fair enough. It's a bit of a moot point at the moment anyway I suppose. If people want to make serious scores they can post with the 360 version (if they have it, of course).

I was thinking maybe MAME users can add a bit of info on frame rate, like they do for touhou scores here with slowdown %. Just a suggestion though, get a general idea of how everyone sets it up before chopping the board further. well, i dont really know, i never had a MAME

On topic, no new scores from me :( I'm really getting too old to score anymore

Running standard MAME which provides an average frame rate and percentage at the end can work too.

Not the best score, but I had to post it since it is my first all clear in this game. A score that stomps on this one will definitely be on the boards soon.
