DEL wrote:Sheesh that's a big Normal Course score DMC ! Especially without destroying Envy. You've obviously worked out some extra tactics.
Congratulations.
I expect a 9mil from you now.
Thanks for those kind words, DEL... and yeah, batrider seems to be a never ending source. Just more and more secrets to discover. :D Quite funny when I'm thinking 'bout the progress in this game. I set up a 4M goal, a 5M goal, and so on. Then the plan is to move on to advanced after reaching that. But each time I reach a goal, I discover more of those secrets, so why stop then... just 1M more. :)

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I'd really appreciate clarification:

Why is ver B preferred? Isn't Jap ver A basically the same apart from lacking a third button? But that can only be relevant if one is using a Garegga ship, right? Am I completely confused or missing something?

I'm asking because I have both versions and want to understand what the differences are. Thanks!

Thanks for that link. So now I do wonder why Icarus, in the initial post, prefers Ver B and asks that version A be specified when used. It would seem that Ver A can only be a disadvantage (and only when Garegga ships are recruited).

Not only is there the Garegga issue, the extends are issued to the player automatically in version A as opposed to being a triggered drop item in version B. If I am not mistaken that is.

just to clarify, I was dead wrong about this... wolf101 does have input lag, 0.101 is just very screwy about advancing the game frame-by-frame when pausing so my testing brought me to an incorrect conclusion. There's actually more lag in all versions from 0.100 on than there were in 0.99 and earlier.

MAMEdev fucked up nearly everything with a toaplan2 base since .100, actually

Don't worry, input lag is "more accurate"
so long and tanks for all the spacefish
unban shw
<Megalixir> now that i know garegga is faggot central i can disregard it entirely

What about DMC's 8,5m run with MAMEplus!? That's clearly not possible with the kind of lag I get. :?

That would be an odd thing to change. Can anyone confirm this? I suppose I could if I could get an extend.

I know for definite that there is a version of Batrider that has auto extends, Icarus and DEL were talking about its pros and cons during STGT last year @ namako.

There's about 20 pages of Batrider posts over there though and I can't face going through it all, but I think the concensus was they didn't like it

Yeah, one of my APB boards is labeled "B ver", and the other is the original version from Dec 22, 1997. But even the latter allows one to use the C button to change options. Very strange. :? Perhaps it was updated somehow.

Not only extends just appear in your lifes count but also, this version lacks many features like guest characters, special course and 1-man mode... it has only stage edit... wow wtf and it was released later than jap A and B

Doesn’t Version A have an infinite score problem?

Aiva certainly has it listed as infinite. I have never seen a replay showing it, or even heard how it is done - some boss attack that scores highly when bombed and doesn't drop items I would imagine, unless some heavy milkable attacks were changed from A to B...
