I've seen two slightly different versions of the cover art, not sure if one is an old mock-up or if it's being used for the LE box.

Why is this thread halfway down the second page??!? Aren't you all as excited as I am about this?

Which mode(s) are you planning on tackling first?

I'm planning on playing a credit or two on each of the modes at first just to get a taste of it all, but I plan to spend the most time with MMP Arcade mode for a while. Well, maybe v.1.01 if I struggle with Arcade, but hopefully that won't be the case.

JUST A COUPLE MORE DAYS desu

I'll also probably play MMP Arcade mode first. I'm not really sure if the arrange modes will do anything for me this time around.

I actually think they both look pretty fun, although I must say it's tough to figure out what's going on in them from the videos I've seen. I tend to treat arrange modes as just an extra mode to have some fun with in between serious sessions with the main modes, though. So I doubt I'll spend extensive time with either.

I'm really looking forward to tackling Pink Sweets with its legendarily unfair difficulty. I'm really hoping the infinite lives trick is still possible in one of the modes, though it sounds like they "fixed" it, which is a real shame. Can't wait to get in some Pork gaming too. When I owned the pcb, it never fit quite right on the tv when run via the supergun I play pcbs on. The score and bomb stock were always cut off, was well as part of the right side. Pork has a lot of screen movement too, so I'd always have unfortunate deaths due to off-screen flak I'd end up diving into. With any luck it should arrive on Saturday. I'm trying to get the clear on Ketsupachi before it arrives, but I just love to destroy great runs in stage 5 with stupidity.

Fingers crossed they've kept it in the Arcade mode 1.0 and "fixed" it in 1.01.

I've got to be careful not to ignore Pink Sweets here. I just didn't click with it at the arcade, while I love the Pork (eva).

Must make an effort to be open minded (at least there should be a way to turn down the Pink Sweets OST, which irks me a bit).

Mine shipped today. I think it would have shipped sooner but I had to change my payment type since my bank was like "foriegn transaction?...refuse"

Maybe I'll be lucky and get it by saturday.

Thanks for those scans of the LE contents. The soundtrack cover looks silly awesome.

Remember folks - there's a special place for preorder chat. We try to keep it from each game's main thread.

Yeah, pretty amazing. I don't usually pay for better shipping, but the shipping was more or less covered by a coupon so I went for it.

Man I've totally been out of the loop on shooters for a while, preordered the LE as soon as it went up but haven't kept up on info regarding the release really. Haven't heard anything about the arranges or what other modes are being offered...regardless, very excited about this release. Big love for Yagawa.

Apparently, they used that "cool" wide mode they invented to fix Guwange's 4:3 screen issues on this port as well. :(

This is most disappointing, but at least it has the option from factory instead of a patch. Still seems like a cheat.

For those folks expecting the same interface as usual: don't. This one is much different.

The first thing you see when you press Start is a cute, simple menu:
Up = leaderboards, Down = options, Left = MMP, Right = PS
The background gives a very outdoorsy feel. It's interesting.

After selecting a game, you'll wait for a few seconds of load time, and then you'll have the choice of Arcade/Arrange/Leaderboards/Exit as the attract mode runs on a cab in the background. This unfortunately appears to be the only way to experience attract mode (edit: attract also runs in the background while in Screen Setting options); once you pick from the below menu, the game starts immediately.

Selecting Arcade or Arrange leads to this menu: Start/Score Attack/Training/Leaderboards/Replay/Option/Exit. Picking one of the first two options jumps right into the game. The Training menu gives you lots of options (want me to list them?). Everything else pretty much works the way you'd expect.

Visual options are fairly basic. In the "system visual options" menu, accessible from the very top main menu, there is a "Wide Mode On/Off" setting that may or may not matter on 4:3 screens, but I don't have the ability to test this. Other than that, it's just horizontal/vertical adjustment, zoom, and of course rotation. Within the games themselves, you get a choice of wallpaper if you haven't filled the screen, the ability to turn off the "smoothing" filter that's forced on you by default, and the ability to move the two provided rank gauges around (and you should, because if you increase the zoom value, they'll be in your way). There are no scanline options.

In this compilation, continues are not available in Score Attack mode.

I'm not really familiar with either game (never played the PCB versions) and I don't intend to try the Arrange modes yet, so I can't say how they're different. If you guys want me to comb through the menus any more, let me know.

Okie dokie. Now that some folks have gotten this game, how about some impressions about the actual games? And not from people who have played the arcade versions to death.

Oh, another thing: the graphics have most definitely NOT been redrawn or enhanced for HD. They seem even more pixelated to me than the other recent Cave games with "arcade" modes. But I don't mind that one bit.

The scoring system in MMP reminds me of Raiden Fighters. Convenience link:

IMHO, the game is FUN. I'm getting ready to exhibit at PAX East in two weeks but I'm really looking forward to some quality time with MMP afterwards.

I found the caravan mode in Pink Sweets and got my ass kicked, lol... the game is a blast of course but I'm totally floored by the rank system.
