Are the controller modules going to be available in 2 weeks as well?

Viletim has a list, just not on the net. He is probably selling this adpater in more ways than just through this forum. But I assure you that if you clearly mentioned your interest, which you did, then you will be on the list and Viletim will contact you as soon as he is ready to sell them. :D

That's also the way he did it with his first adapter.

Viletim, PM'd you for a request for one of these - will you be acknowledging those who have done this so we know we are on the list?!

:)

Also, can you jsut help on a queston I posted earlier? Thanks!

Is the IDC connector a 2 x 10? Not familiar with these - can you point me to a link (ebay or whatever) showing a solderable plug as discussed earlier that would mate with your connector please?

Yes. The adapter is designed in such a way that it's possible to mount another video input connector on the far side. I will look into making a few with an extra JP RGB input, but I won't say much more 'till I'm able to inspect the boards myself.
emphatic wrote:That screw connector is the only external option then, or will there be a JAMMA female one available as well?
Both will be available at the time of release.

No, you'll have to use hackpads and external encoders for the time being.

The is for those who, at an earlier stange in the game, expressed interest in the new adapters by email and through this forum. Those on the list will receive a notice and nothing more.

The crimp version is best for this application.

Unsure what this means though :) - I PM'd a request a few weeks back - had no reply yet or to another PM this week - am I or others like me on the list to get one?? :? :)

Max,

Some people don't want to bother with checking this forum to see if the adapters are available yet. Others are likely unaware that this forum thread even exists. Those people are on the notification list and you are too.

It is not a list "to get one", but a list to know when they are ready. You already know that they will be available to buy in a week and a half or so. I'm not sure what you're worried about...

viletim: Perhaps you should change the title of this thread from (SOLD OUT) to (IN PRODUCTION) or something? It would be a shame if potential buyers don't read the thread.

Hello everyone,
I have the first adapter from viletim. It works great.
I would like to use my PAL megadrive2 (genesis2) with it but I don't have a RGB cable. Instead of buying one I plan to make one myself with the diagrams here.
I know that for viletim's adapter I don't need the +5V to be wired, only the 3colors, the ground, the audio and the synchro signal.
My question is: do I really need the 75ohm and 220µF on the three colors wires ? I repeat that I only want to use this with viletim adapter, so no worries for tv sets or anything. I can't find 75ohm resistors in the nearby shops, so I was wondering if they are necessary.
thanks a lot !

emphatic,

I should have done that a while ago. It's a bit late now... I'll change it when they're ready.

Drunkenietzschigo,

Yes, you really should use them. The values are not critical. If you can't find a 220u cap then use a 100u, 330u or 470u. If the shop doesn't sell a 75 ohm resistor, then buy some 68 or 82 ohm instead.

Viletim,

Could you put a temporary hold on the release of this thing? Its going to be just before Xmas when you start shipping these out and I'm worried it will get lost in the mail. Or at least pre-order one and you hold it till after Xmas. I don't think I would have time to use it anyway even if I got it earlier. On the flip side, I don't want to miss out. Do you have production numbers yet?

Shame about no control compatibility out of the box.

Side note - I would prefer mine had JP21 on it (in addition to SCART). I just like having all bases covered.

thanks for the answer Viletim, I think they sell the E12 resistors, so i'll go for 82 ohms.
Thanks !

neorichieb1971 makes a good point , the mail services Worldwide are working overtime due to Xmas. I had 2 CD's shipped from Amazon.uk on Nov 29th and i still havent received them , i actually think its been lost and i wont be getting them.

What sucks is its my first time not receiving a package and the 2 CD's are rare now , they are not being pressed anymore

Sworn Enemy - As Real As It Gets

Having a package not come really sucks i feel terrible about it

I'd like to know too, because the thread title said 'Sold Out' I figured they weren't available. :(
I'm desperate for one of these things, so I hope there's still a chance. Messages out to the relevant places, please let me know viletim.

The old version is sold out. The new hasn't even come out yet. Just request Viletim to put you on the list and you will be contacted in the order of posting. I would imagine he will build 10%-30% over quota for late comers.

Whoo, I'm on the list, can't wait! :o

I suppose I'm going to need a few scart adaptors now right, as this device only accepts Euro scart.
Hmm, my JP 360 uses an official component cable where I could put the RGB into a scart block adaptor - will I need another adaptor for this.

Does anyone recommend getting a JP 360 RGB scart lead?

Thanks!

I think that you can just buy a Euro scart RGB from Microsoft and use with your JP console. I'm pretty sure it will work "out of the box".

Even better! So all I need then is a JP -> Euro adaptor for my other leads (SFC/PCE) and such?

So is everyone just waiting with bated breath or is this being discussed elsewhere? How is the transportation, testing, and administrative work mentioned before going? Is this thing still coming together, any hick-ups we need to know about? It's been 2 weeks since we first saw the beautiful picture of what's hopefully going to be going in out cabinets and aiding us in getting our shmups running properly. I'm just really excited! This is much more exciting for me now than Christmas here in the states!

The boards arrived on Friday. Everything is going to plan but I'm very busy with other obligations. I'll have a proper update tomorrow.
